When you are trading for peace you can have whatever you want on one side of the table and PT on the second side. You cannot make for example PT+Alph for PT+10g. This exploit bases on this fact.

Ask enemy for peace. Choose all his techs and gold. If he answers it is not possible, don't clear the table but ask him what is his price. Is is possible, that he will want to add sth from your side, but the engine does't allow this! Now confirn the error message and choose "We accept" - you have it all.

As example take this save and ask Freddie for peace, then apply the method above.

I think they know this one (I pointed it out about 2 weeks ago). Have you noticed the Governor problem?

Yes, but in your case was that tech for cash. And in my case I was quite unaware that I am cheating :D, you knew what you do.
Governor problem?

I just encountered this bug - I sued for peace with Tokugawa after he discovered gunpowder before me. Glad to see it's already been reported :)

The interesting thing is that it doesn't always work; sometimes they'll flat out reject you and you won't get the error message. It works with cities too, not just techs and cash. I've found that the amount of stuff you can get out of them does depend on who is winning the war and by how much; although even if they are winning you can usually get a little out of them this way.

I've had times where I was losing so badly I couldn't get them to give me anything using this cheat.

I hope they remove it; it's too tempting to use it to gain that little extra edge.

I just posted this to another thread, but I found you can do the same thing for cities. Instead of techs, ask for every city the civ owns, and od what you described. You get every one of their cities peacefully, short of the capitol. :goodjob:
