i think this system for exploration should work better. this poll is for the moves for some turns, until theduckofflanders has posted new pics.

This is a really clear and simple way to do it. Goodjob! :goodjob:

I say Pony to the blue area, and the Archer goes to Olympia. If you notice, there are two areas on the map, one close to Olympia, in fact, which looks like part of a grid for a city. I bet we run into someone pretty soon.

Might seem a bit early for this, as we haven't even managed to build our phalanx yet, but I want the next city on the square just south of where the horsey is now, so that we can get both fish squares and some grassland shields. With a harbour and granary then we will have an ideal factory for settlers as it will grow back in no time. :D
It would be good, with this in mind, to find out what's in the dark square that would be in this city's radius, but that can wait until we have searched the land more thoroughly. :goodjob:

whooops, i forgot to tell. i made the two white lines. they are indicating that there are hidden coastlines...

i also missed three other hidden coastlines...

:p to dh7.
We should explore the closest regions on horse, but the archer should move straightly to east and then south.
