Created a Civ dedicated copy of the XCOM Squad (changed nothing except the Type, necessary thing to duplicate a unit and assign it to a specific civ)

Turns out that the Extended Paradrop Anim is somehow linked not to the UnitClass as expected, but to the Unit Type so that since i changed it, now when i paradrop them, the anim that i see is that of the paratrooper....

Couldnt find where or how that link between the unitype and the anim is done so i can clone it for my new unit...

Someoen knows it or have any clue?

Thanks.

There's nothing specific to the XCOM Squad in the core DLL (excluding the one achievement reference), so unless it's a specific XML/Database entry (but I thought animations were tied to CombatClass not UnitClass nor UnitType) my guess would be that it's hard-coded in the UI DLL (which we don't have the source code for) a bit like the AA animations are - which will crash if you try to get them to fire at paratroopers.

Ok, I get that; but even if it was... why the anim should not crash but Switch to that of a Paratrooper? It doesnt make any sense... there must be somewhere coded that the unittype change or even the Combatclass change would redirect the anim from that of the Xcom to that of a standard paratrooper...

U said u thought that anims were linked to the Combatclass... why u think so? there is a xml stating that? if u got some idead i' d like to try them...
