ExtraModMod continued

Thanks, fixed. I attached the patched file in case you want to continue that game, extract to Assets/python/entrypoints.
I may do that, but actually, since this was the first time I'd ever seen the Gela event, I decided to try out a few other options. Coincidentally, I had Pyre and the Mirror, so I tried out those first, and now I've just made peace with Basium so I can see what happens if I take it to the Gate. So far, though, I think I will prefer the Pool ending when it's working correctly.

On another note, the regenerate map option seems to ignore start modifiers like frozen world (or whatever the one where the map gradually thaws is called) and Elohim's maphacks.
I just checked that and it works fine on erebus. Do you know which mapscript you were using?

My bad, it seems the actual culprit is the automatic turn 1 save. I tend to be rather picky with starting locations and use the initial settler to scout quite a bit, since you have to reload to regenerate past turn 1 the two got mixed up in the process somehow. I guess as a side effect you can pick a frozen or thawed version of the same map if you for some reason desire to.

E: Addendum, I believe unique features' names suffer from the same bug. The features themselves are unchanged, but the boxes with their names disappear permanently if you load the turn 1 save.

E2: Buboes got stuck in a previously empty lair as described on the previous page, I suspect he simply follows the behavior of other barbs. Save + logs.

Funny stuff, Flauros decided to attack a paladin with Hemah

Also had a question, has the AI been made smarter in how it deals with attacks by hidden nationality units? I completed pact of the nilhorn here, took the giants to attack/pillage Valledia, and although war was not declared she still has a - "this war is going badly for us" modifier.

That looks like a BtS bug. I'll see what I can do.

So I finally got Gela to the Gate. Might I suggest an improvement? The resolution of that story just pops up as a status message before the start of your turn, and in my case it was gone before I could fully read it. Moreover, you couldn't see the text later in the event log. I had to reload and then grab a screenshot just to be able to read the whole thing. I know there is no choice involved, but could you have it pop up in an event window, so you could read it and then click a button before it's gone?

Now I'm going to patch it and reload my old save for the Pool ending. As I said, great questline!

You might want to give WW reduction to illians - if not early then a endgame building or ritual. "The Draw" means that WW kills more Illians economy than wars. And according to a lore - illians had no problem at finishing the world as it suited for their Avatar.

Auric's favorite civic also goes best with the one form of government that increases WW. I know balance changes aren't really the focus of EMM, but Illians' lategame is mostly a gimmick anyway, it wouldn't hurt to give them some love IMO. You could argue for and against a bunch of WW modifiers for various civs, but I feel Illians stick out the most. Apart from Tower of Mastery they're ill-suited for pacifistic victory conditions anyway - can't research, spread or remove religions, can't build temples for culture and even if AoL was allowed for evil civs they'd have difficulty making any real use of it.

They do have a unique advantage in a faster Tower of Elements which is nothing to sneeze at, although most of the time I'd probably just have the option to spam Soldiers of Kilmorph. Slave trade is better but nothing prevents most civs from having both and council resolutions are unreliable.

E: I guess most of this applies to Grigori too but come on, you're not going to sit quietly in a corner when you get to pick the warmongering trait of your choice, four twincasting Archmages, a retinue of Guardsman / Hero bodyguards and better Command Posts in every city with only the last one costing any gold or hammers. :p

Hyborem is offering to capitulate, but won't accept in the actual trade screen. Not sure if it's because I'm controlling the Mercurian Gate, it shouldn't be an issue since I kicked out the pesky feathery gits first. I vaguely recall seeing this behavior before. Save.

E: He did capitulate after some Djinn-shaped persuasion. Go figure.
E2: Same save, nothing happens when I take the Gela to the Gate. Mercurians were already gone when I picked it up, so the option should probably be disabled if the Gate isn't enough by itself.

I've seen similar, where a leader will offer vassalage but a check on the trade screen to see who they're at war with shows them either not willing to vassalize or need a few 'incentives'.

Could it be that the AI processes trades at the start of its turn "oh no, based on my situation I should probably capitulate" and then does some combat, and after the combat goes well for it, re-evaluates and decides its not done with this war after all?
