ExtremeMod

sounds cool i will first finnish my current game before getting the new version

Also I had a friend today that had issues running the game, but we eventually got it to work by lowering all the graphic settings to bare minimum.

He runs a Pentium IV laptop with a 5200Go video card (god awful performance). Luckily it does have a gigabyte of ram.

So I am confident that if the mod is downloaded and installed correctly that it should work on any legacy system -- I just wish I had a Vista or 7 box to make sure it works with.

. . . .And after the above posts, I have added a ton of more continent -- very cool stuff.

then i think we found my problems also that sounds nearly my pc, most problems he has i most likely have civ say's that my pc is below the recommended so that might be it i blew my graphicscard so i need a new one

i hope you will work out the strength issue because with the edit in the front of the game unit strength is in the begin cramped and later a little out of wack

i just started a hotseat with my little brother he loves it

that is standard right now

I was overwhelmed on the small map game I played on prince level, total war option, mainly my science rate fell too far behind ai, I might tinker with that 1 setting on diff. setting, i think I saw it at 110%, maybe give ai a couple more freebie units but even up the science, again love the mod , will play some more, but sticking to small map 6-7 civ archipelago type maps, this helps cut total city count and strain on comp. somewhat. Also I wonder will ai ever attempt commercial victory as their money management is poor, I like the option though.

i didn't hear yet about fixes to strength i hope you can work it out

Sorry, I have not worked on the mod in several weeks. I got sidetracked with school and playing Everquest II.

Perhaps on Thanksgiving Break, I can whip together all these units I have been collecting into a new release for the mod.

It will be coming ASAP!

Thanks!

Troy

Sounds great:goodjob: You certainly deserve a break after doing a fab. job on this mod, so far I like 100% science on prince with all the other settings the same.

you are right dreadknought he certainly did a great job this mod is i think one of the biggest around and certainly the biggest i played

Beware Evercrack. ;)

You've done excellent work. Looking forward to it, whenever.

Hey first of all great work on the mod! Started playing a game as Scythia and it's going pretty well.

There is something strange I noticed though. Apparently Composite Archers provide 12349540% city defense!? Is this intentional? :O

No. There is a long standing issue with that. I am unsure if it is just a statistical value problem or if you truly have that defensive capability.

I have tried to duplicate the problem but have not been able to -- although you are not the first to describe this bug.

Try and get someone to attack your archer and see if they can resist the onslaught.

I am hoping it is just a number glitch and not truly the value. If you find out more, let me know.

Let me know how things go -- I hope to be modding the game very soon and trying to fix some of the bugs.

Hmm well I didn't get one of my composite archers (or ash archers for that matter who also seem to have this display) attacked but I did attack a few. Considering I was able to beat quite a few of them I don't believe what it was displaying is what it's actually getting. Curious...

Too bad I don't have bananas in my empire this time around, I would've liked to make a Kong. haha :P

Hahah! The Kong units are the best. I have a friend that just makes them and beats the tar out of the AI. He even had a few around when the enemy had biplanes and it we laughed our a$$es off.

A lot of fun units in there -- I myself love the steampunk stuff because for some cursed reason I can never have an ample supply of oil.

I don't remember if the latest version has my Ethenol Factory or not (perhaps the next release version) but it takes corn and converts it into oil.

All around very fun.

Another thing that has been plaguing me is getting the AI aggressive enough. Please comment on if you think they are too wimpy or to aggressive?

Well I've been in a war with the Sumerians who are really much stronger than I am (I was quite unprepared when I decided to accept the Cham's request for a military ally) but on the main front there hasn't been much activity while I've been building up. They seem intent on destroying a particular incense plantation over and over again (my slaves rebuild it quickly) haha.

It might just be that they're distracted from fighting the Cham (who are the weakest at this point) and don't want to mount a large attack against me, but I'll see. Maybe he'll notice me if I can grab a major city or two. I'll take some screenshots of what military they have and how they're utilizing it. From what little I've seen they do tend to just stack their troops in their cities and only come out to defend their land (or destroy incense plantations). :P

From what I see on numerous games, there is always 1 empire that is the top dog, then a smattering of coniving backbiters. At the bottom end there are always one or two empires that just disgraceful.

Of the top dog and some of the upper middle mutts, they amass huge amounts of troops but rarely attack. When they do, its a blitzgriek and then they just kinda get lost in what they are doing and stop their aggression.

I am resetting some values and trying another test game tonight. I will see how it goes.
