What makes you do the happy dance most - finishing that wonder on diety, getting a great leader, .... ?

and what is your best story where you have had this favorite thing happen?

The closest thing to a happy dance I've had while playing Civ3 was the time I lit my beard instead of my pipe when I was peering in the fog trying to spot some wheat at the beginning of a game.

lol@itcoltj
Great leaders happen to me so seldom that I do a little

for every one of them. The first one in particular has been important so far, to make the FP in foreign lands. Trying a palace jump next...

Probably the most satisfying thing for me is when a military campaign plays out as expected i.e. I achieve the objectives with acceptable losses

Leaders and/or getting that wonder when you're never quite sure how close the other civs are and you cant afford to peek.

Getting a Leader is great, but a surviving suicide galley floats my boat best.

In a recent game I played, I had the luckiest suicide galley ever..surviving 3 turns in the ocean AND a barbarian attack before going on to make contact!

I have never before jumped out of my chair with joy....but I certainly did after that!

Watching the AIs killing each others while waiting patiently for the right moment to jump in to get their spoils. When my moment finally comes, I usually feel like dancing.[dance]

Wow - getting rushed on these threads - thx.

I would say getting a leader is the best, and winning that occasional suicide attack.

When playing as Japan that famous leader Hirohito appears - something about that name that makes a good yell.

Despite my objection to them and their power, getting one is time for the "Dance of Joy." (Ten points to anyone who can catch that reference...) Usually I try to give the creating units good names at that point. (King Maker, Swordsman on Doom/Death etc, etc)

I would say getting a leader is the best ... for the FP.

Linked to perfectly time wonder build when you are quite sure other civs are building and you just do it before them. :D
It is so annoying when it is the opposite

Definately a leader, but I'd also rank suicide galleys up there along with early warrior rushes.

Figuring out everything I have been reading here, then actually completing some of the tasks that I set out to accomplish.

Oh Yeah and GL's but I hardly ever get them. Guess I better become a warmonger;)

I'd have to say a Deity victory, GL's, and suicide galleys are the only things I can think of right now that put me into that state of euphoria.

lol, as well @ ltcoljt!

Top happy dance triggers:

1) Great leader
2) Great Library on emperor (or deity, although that hasn't happened yet...)
3) Cultural flip (in my direction, of course)

So what is that reference?

My top Civ 3 Happy Dance moments.
1. GOTM 18 (Celts) - Through Some miracle I was able to get 3 wonders in one turn. I was trying to avoid the cascade, so I saved a leader to rush one. I finished one naturally. Rushed the second at the beginning of my turn, and then got a leader in combat later in the turn and used it to rush the 3rd.

(on to the more general happy dances)
#2. Ripping off the AI for Techs. Sell to a bunch of them and bankrupt them all. Makes for me dancing around.

#3. Getting a city in culture flip. Means I'm doing something right :)

The others are great too, but those make me really happy.
