f-word in prime time?

On Oct. 3, the Federal Communications Commission said it won't prohibit the airing of the f-word (or any other obscene language, for that matter) unless it's said in a sexual context.

so is this good, bad or nothing? i think tv will suck alot more.

the article I read about the subject, while metioning a book on the subject, didnt include them

though i wouls imagine thatmost of them are hardley used- like "****"- you never hear that one...

My guess is that much of the other 11 banned words are racially related slurs

As for censorship, i find it unnecessary, and annoying. How many great movies have to be ruined by being played cut up to bits with commercials, and then having any word worse than darn changed, thus ruining the context for the word in the first place.

However, if sitcoms started using the "f-word" it would not change the fact that most of them still suck.

on CTV (canadian television) they do not censor anything when they air the Sopranos, which come on at 9 or 10, the heart of primetime for our timezone at least.

Some radio stations in calgary (CJAY 92 comes to mind) doesn't censor very often, Matthew Good Bands "rico" is a prime example.
