ok, so it appears the war is going pretty good. we have surprised the Germans wiht a declaration of war and took their capital of Berlin, wiht minimul casualties. Now we as a nation must decide what to do with those uncivilized Germans. We could continue the war and press our advantage and raze their cities. Or we could sign peace (when they decide they are willing to talk) and make nice with them for a while. so what do you guys want to do with the Germans?

I originally intended to have a short war with the germans, and we may still have to. I'll go with the Citizenry on this one, and plan for both contingency's, if we stay at war or stop, it doesn't matter to me, we'll still ahve a strong plan either way.

I fear the German's will have a hard time keeping up their status in this world, and from now on they will for the most part be banished to the tundra. Only cities to the South-East of Berlin that possibly lay in fruitfull territory should be a worry to us, but for that I say leave it to another day. Let's not risk our army being decimated while the army of other nations only grow Also, every city we take from Germany is more land for France or Rome to roam to.

We've taken what we wanted. Let's end this war before our citizens become restless.

I believe your fear has already come true. Our army has been strong compared to Germany for the past half a dozen TC's, while our strength against other nations has been varied. Also, Germany gained a grand total of 4 points last TC, while all other nations (including us) went up by double digits.

Strange, I'm not sure why I used "fear" there. Let's try "believe." While I'm at it, let me just make it "I believe that the Germans will have a harder time...".

In any case, I think that we should end hostilities as fast as possible, for the reasons stated above.

We must raze Cologne and stop the war now. We don't want to waste more swordsmen (who said spearmen, crap) with a bad RNG mood in some offensive against a distant german town.

IF we burn down their citys they will be replaced with french and roman citys. i say it is better to have a weak germany on our border than a strong french or rome. I say make peace as soon as possible. and if they wont talk we continute our war taking the citys curving facing south of berlin (that border our lands) until they will negoaitate.

The Germans have 4 archers available for counter attack, we need to neutralize that threat. It would also be a good idea to disconnect them from their iron source, by pillaging roads between Frankfurt and Cologne.

After that I would support trying to get Munich in the peace deal, and abandoning it. It seems insignificant, but this should be sufficient to eliminate them as a bounce back threat. I have started the process on an amendment which would allow us to accept cities in peace treaties and then abandon them, for just this purpose. We will really need that ability when dealing with the French.

I agree with DS. Those German archers can easily take back Berlin and with our little defenses possibly destroy us. I agree that we need to neutralize that threat and will support your amendement DS. I suggest razing cologne and hidelburg as well.

Supporting the amendment to Article C is the coward's way out. If we take cities, we need to take them by force and raze them. Offering then the Fanatik lifestyle and then killing them is akin to killing off our own citizens. Pathetic.

Peace as soon as possible, for now anyway. We have what we wanted - Berlin, and at the moment if we raze any more cities either Rome or France will probably grab the space making them even stronger. I would prefer to leave those German cities there until we reach the point where razing them would allow our culture to expand and prevent them being re-built or we intend to use our troops to keep the land clear.

Like I said in Ranger99's thread peace is bad. We need to raze the german cities right near our borders. If those lands are settled we will see them long before they settle. We could position troops preventing settlement. A weak germany is better then a destroyed one, everyone said that. They would remain strong if they keep their cities.

As for your blockading idea...Impossible, any half-witted Computer will slip through at the slighest mistake, yes Blaockaind is nopt an option, the world is young, not many boundaries and to many Entry-Points.

Exactly. The time will come when we can prevent settling on these lands but it is not now. Until then better the weak Germans have this land as it will be easier for us to remove these cities when we can prevent settlement later.
