Note to the governors:

With the ability to now build factories, I'm wondering if you can both suggest some cities where we can enter them into the building queue. I'd think Olympia and Fort Pornstar could benefit, but perhaps others as well.

It seems a lot has happened since my last visit here last wednesday. (No time thursday and forum down yesterday...). Factories are nice and I would like to suggest a rush-building program for all our larger cities, much like the previous aqueduct program. Pollution could prove a problem, especially with all enemy ships patrolling our coasts. That could easiily lead to undesiarable losses of engineers. :)

Yep, build them in the main cities. Perhaps only a few should be rush built because they will cost alot and we still need caravans but two factories could be rush built in Olympia and THDP because they are our main production cities.

Done with the summary updates, now going for the build ques. :)

I am considering Fort Pornstar and Potpolia as the two main candidates for factory building in Phobos since they have the largest base production in that province. (Olympia would be nice too, but I don´t want to tread on Dell´s toes.). I also suggest we buld factories in Joespaniel and Unknown City, since they have fair production and are close to potential enemies. Having production centra close to the front lines is good.

On our main island I think THDP, Cornmaster and Hippoville make good candidates, but the previous cities are more important.

In our outer caravan cities the they are less important as we will try to rush build caravans anyway...and factories will take awhile to be built in small cities.

Indeed it is wise to build factories only in high production cities at the moment as they won't give much benefit in low production cities anyway. Usually when I build a spaceship I also give the low production cities factories so that they can help by building a few structurals while the big production cities buid the components and modules.

Well building a spaceship is a long way away so we don't have to worry about building factories in a small cities for awhile yet. Perhaps as the first few cities finish their factories, some of the more average cities can start building factories as well. Cities like Dellsville and Cornmaster etc...

Factories do not require any other buildings, but to build a manufactuirng plant you need a factory present.

Mr Spice is right. The factory is the base unit onto which the other improvements must be added. The Hoover Dam does not give you hydro plants in all your cities automatically - it merely converts all the factories that you have into hydro plants, which have the same production but far less pollution. :goodjob: The Solar plant will eliminate all production pollution, but this is miles off and hydro plants reduce it to such an extent that although you may get production pollution occasionally, it is much less of the headache that it becomes with stinking factories blowing out smoke all over your territory. :smoke:
