Faerun: Request for Graphics

I'm working on a very large update for Faerun BNW -- a fantasy mod -- and I need a specific kind of graphic that I've not been able to find.

In the new version of the mod, several Civs have mobile cities. I need a unit graphic that looks like a city, but doesn't have movement animations. I'd also like a graphic that can be adjusted along the z-axis such that the unit (city) would appear to float.

If this is something you'd like to create, I'd be happy to list you in the mod credits with a link to your work.

Hey FA,

I'd be willing to take a shot at this if you are still needing it. I'm slowly getting back into modding again and need something to break in to Blender again. Something akin to WoW's Dalaran, perhaps? Floats above ground when stationary but moves like BE's aquatic cities? Speaking of BE, maybe the code for how to move cities is in there since it is interchangeable with CiV (unless something hard-coded in CiV prevents it). As far as floating, I think you just need to set the Z Offset for the graphic and that's it. I've done that with a couple of my models and it seems to work correctly across all terrains.

Anyway, let me know if you still need this and I'll see if I can take a crack at it.

Here is the gr2 and the blend file.
I don't know how to make an animation. if someone makes a simple still animation it can be a unit.

if some one can do that or show me how to make an animation in blender, i will then right a custom fx trigger file for it too to add moving clouds and many other things and give it an attack effect.

FramedArchitect, what else does the floating city need. what should be taken away?

Im sorry Ive noticed in the pic of my cloud city that a cloud is missing.
I've have set something up wrong in the blend file that will need to be corrected. Sorry about that.

Here is a mod I'm working on. I have posted some rough picture of it nothing game ready. But I have been able to change city graphics I'll eventual make a new thread and make a link in the above thread to a guide on how to make new city set graphics with blender template files for city sets.

I know this is a unit thread but this may be worth keeping an eye out for.
 
OK i think i figured it out, animations kinda.

currently I'm hard at work on my own project.

Maybe some one can test this unit and animation for me.

if it works ill re-export it from blender in a more correct way fixing the bone placement.

And if your happy with the look ill write up an fx trigger for moving clouds and attacks.

what kind of attack do you want. i can use the normal arrows or try to find a more magical looking effect.

you might want to make a way for melee units to not be able to attack it.
idk at the moment if a promotion or anything has that effect.
probably going to be an lua code.
