Failed Loading XML

Everytime I go to load the game I get a series of errors based around the XML files.

Example...


Failed Loading XML file xml\text\civ4gametextinfos.xml

...then it will issue a bunch of errors similar to that with a different name.

specs - 2.4 rig
1gig of Ram
GeForce6 6600GT most updated drivers

...the game will then load up, but massive text based errors on the interface screens will appear.

Also says the following -

Reason: Switch from current encoding to specified encoding not supported.

Yes this similiar to the problem I have. Same error messages, only I can't even get the game to load. Have you been able to resolve it yet?


Running a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Ultra with XP Professional.

I was able to get the game to finally load. After I shuffled past the two dozen error messages. You are right. About 90 percent of the in game text is scrambled making the game unplayable.

I am having the EXACT problem. It gives me the same error messages. The game WILL load, but when it loads after a billion error messages it have all the text scramble making it unplayable.

My Specs:
2.53 P4
512 MB

ATI 9800 pro

People with both video cars are having this problem... kinda weird
