Sounds like a great unit to me. Somebody should put together a "What if Rome never fell?" scenario using all the Roman units.

The only part of Roma Eterna I did not agree with was the Aztecs wiping out 7 full legions. That was a very large stretch for me. Hell all the Romans had to do was wait, hell disease would have done their job for them.

Well, by the Age of Discovery the Romans would probably have possessed even more advanced technology then the Spanish did, but I don't know if they would have possessed guns.

I have a few ideas for "Roman Elements that are still Practical."

First, some soldiers of this time period wore epaulettes. Perhaps the Roman's could look similar to the shoulder sections of the lorica segmentata. I'm not suggesting actual shoulder armor, since it isn't practical, just a look.

That brings me to my second idea. Since the Roman Soldier wouldn't be wearing plate armor, why not give the impression of it on the uniform. I'm thinking of colored bands across the torso, reminiscent of the segmentata pattern.

How are these ideas?

EDIT: or Xen's cuirassier idea would work.

well, if kinbopat still has it, I made a pretty nice concept for a Minoan plalace guard; i woudl present it myself but it was one of innumerable files lost when I had to completelly re-boot, or instasll or what ever my system a few days ago.

I think not all the line of legion units are done I also want this unit but I also want the roman cavalry. Its an industrial legion on horse with gun.
