So we all know how today in the real world most modern western countries can literally annilate a small 3rd world country like Grenada or something like that and do so only in a few short hours. I would like to have in the modern age this possible. So this will go over a broad basis of units which can be altered to give this effect.

For starters, Stealth Bombers should have infinte movement, honestly in RW conflicts like Iraq we have B2s comeing out of Missouri going to Iraq, also need for Jet Bomber(ie B-52) with the same ability-bit off topic but both of these planes should be able to carry tactical nukes and drop them on targets but can drop normal bombs as well.

Paradropping- Ok so there are paratroops but they are practically useless and a waste of money unless you have enomous amounts of them and even then you lose a good 50-75% of them in an attack if not more, So you need offensive infantry, and small hummvee type things that would be able to drop within a certain range-desent ranged, for instance a group of infantry going from say Germany to drop in Syria or Iraq distance.

Next up, of course this has been sort of discussed before, but increase the need for modern navies to have Aircraft Carriers, need for carrier groups all over the place.

Increase stats of Paratroops

Also to increase the importance of ROPs, the ability to build Fortifications on ally soil-ie Air bases, Forts, Naval Bases (if included)

Missles and Ships, ok so anyone who has seen videos of the first gulf war has seen the pics of the Missles coming down on their targets, most of those came off of ships at sea, so to represent this, after the advent of rocketry any ships increase their range by two squares and add the ability to either bombard with guns or missles-missles however would only attack specific targets like a bridge(if you are able to see them and such otherwise work just as now.

Colonel, I don't want to see the range of air unit to be extended until they fix air warfare. Right now, its way to hit or miss.

Sid has already said that unit diversification would be important. Hopefully, this will include paratroopers.

I think the biggest thing to do is to make Carriers dangerous. This would include increasing the number of air units on board and allowing helos on carriers. Also, THEY NEED TO PUT SOMETHING IN THE WATER WORTH PROTECTING

Wow. Well put.

All this talk about making navies more interesting won't count for much until you can figure out why controlling the seas was important in the first place.
 
Navies would become more important if you introduce naval blockades that allow one ship to prevent cities using any water squares. Blockades should also intercept trade routes (not just resource to resource transfers - make trade more important, its not rocket science).

After magnetism ships should be able to move very fast and ships should have more transport capabilites - I say double the transport capabilities of all transport ships and give some warships limited transport capabilities (say 1 unit) - programme the AI so that it loads the ships up to capacity and then attacks in a single devastating sneak attack. Additionally, amphibious assault should be made available to specialist units in the middle ages.

Double the strength & rate of fire of all naval bombards (give lethal land bombard to industrial & modern ships) & increase range with missiles sounds good too.

Move communications & map trading to far later techs - so it pays to build ships to explore.

Yes, the sea should contain something worth protecting (historically this has always been trade routes) but if you improve ships so that they can cause serious aggro then they will also be more useful and will facilitate long distance wars.
