Fatal Error Message?

Upon a new game starting with the 1.52 patch newly installed, when usually the button would appear "Play Game" after everything is initialized, I get a message that says this:

FATAL_ERROR
Your system has run out of video memory. Please trying reducing [sic] your video settings.
File:\main\civilization4.bak\SKDs\Gamebryo2_0\Core Libs\NiDX9Renderer\NiDX9RenderedTextureData.cpp, Line:167

What the hell does that mean? Other than the maddening "trying reducing" grammar error, it seems like it's trying to tell me something.

Oh yeah, and there's another error when I click OK:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: ...raxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Civilization4.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Easy, there, tiger. Have you checked the tech support forum? This is more for general discussions, you might find some better advice in the other forum.

Umm... I would say try(ing) lowering your video settings.
