Aye. Costello would never have been as funny if not for Abbot, and Homer and Bart's humor is enhanced by the way Lisa reacts to it.

My favorite character used to be Homer, until his brain completely melted away. He was never a genius, but it was funny before. Now it's just sad.

So now, it's a tie between Mr. Burns and Comic Book Guy. Not that I watch the show anymore. Not new episodes, anyway. I still love the old ones.

My favorite one-time-only character: Guy Incognito.

I think the supporting cast really makes the show even though the family was well done, if it only was about them, it would get boring after a while.

A couple of my favs (all para-quotes):
Professor Frink. "Professor Frink, Professor Frink, he makes you laugh, he makes you think, and then.... oh, those monkeys are going to pay!" "I've been redorkulated!"

Comic Store Guy. His sarcasm never wears on me: (racing toy cars with Otto) "Quiet Lisa, we are racing for the champion of the Universe"

I also really like Duff-man. His arrival on Barney's DD night was classic.

Mr. Burns with all the classic references to old films, Dr. Seuss, musicals, etc...
