My first ever adventure game was Lure of the Temptress, for the Amiga500 :) Then i got Cruise for a Corpse, which i loved as well, and following that Simon the Sorcerer.
For the pc i enjoyed playing Beneath a steel sky, Broken sword 1 & 2 and Gabriel Knight.

And you?

I dont have 1 favorite - but there are several that are really awsome.

DeFoe series (5days a Stranger, 7days a Skeptic, Trilby's Notes, 6days a Sacrifice) - one of the best and most complex horror story i ever saw. (not the most original tho :D) They have ugly(by some people's standards) graphics but I THINK they are free for download. If not then ... umm ... nvm. :mischief:
I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream - probably the most awsome depressing horror story game ever
Monkey Island 1,2,3,4 - no comment
Sam&Max - Season1 is fun.
Sanitarium - a very insane/horror/disturbing game
Still Life - awsome noir detective story
The Longest Journey - beautyfull, just beautyfull.

I'm sure i forgot other great ones ...

Day of the Tentacle, of course.

The Longest Journey and its sequel. - Great story and setting, even better characters.
Grim Fandango - Amazing art style, writing and characters.
Sanitarium - Awesome settings and good puzzles
Sam and Max Season 1 - Great humor and main characters

Grim Fandango - Seriously, play it
Indiana Jones & The Fate of Atlantis - Best 'classic' point 'n click adventure ever made! Plus it has 3 different paths to play!
King's Quest II Remake by AGD Interactive. Highest productionvalue ever seen in a free game!

And eagerly anticipating:
Indiana Jones & The Fountain of Youth. Forever in production, but shows awesome potential. The demo is nice too...

Space Quest I-IV
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
Most Larry games
Monkey Island 1&2
Discworld 1&2& Discworld Noir
Grim Fandango
Broken Mirror
Day of the Tentacle
Sam & Max Hit the Road
Simon
Toonstruck

...

In short, there are just too many to list!

Day of the Tentacle
Grim Fandango
Hotel Dusk: Room 215

Those three stick most, the latter one probably because I played it so recently, but it had me gripped throughout the entire time I played it.

True adventure games have no poor graphics. They don't have graphics.

I can't pick one favorite, I will just say:
Any game by Steven Meretzky and Infocom!

I did also like Zak McKracken and Monkey Island 1 & 2. But nothing compares to Infocom games.

I played 5 days a stranger. It was rather nice :)
I can also find 7 days a sceptic, but not the other two. If they are freeware does anyone have links to them?

I remember having played "The dagger of Amon Ra". I thought it was nice.

Zelda and Pirates win hands-down. I'm looking forward to playing Okami and Sam & Max on my Wii soon, though.

What do you mean? This forum is about adventure games, and they're both adventures games? What do you call them?
