What is your favorite part of the game? Here is mine: My favourite era is the late middle ages because of the important techs and units discovered. I also like that period in science because of the better shipping and the outbreak of gunpowder. I find it the ideal time to make friends and declare enemies.

Early middle ages. That's when all the action is. Catching up, wars, rest is mostly the same for every game.

Hard to choose, but I like my games to go on for a long time, so I actually get to play some later eras. So I like Early industrial the best, with World War one infantry, Communism and Facism starting to come into play, and ironclads. All around cool, IMHO.

Early Middle Ages. All the civs have established themselves by this point, and things really start to happen. Not too many units yet, so things are still fairly quick, as well.

Early Middle Ages... That's when the traps are sprung, dominoes fall, anybody can still win. By the end of the Middle Ages, the table is set.

Early industrial age where the earth is experiencing most change and exciting new technologies and playing styles arise.

For me, definitely early industrial. I love that period where my workers are poised to railroad up my entire empire - my economy and production skyrockets. I also enjoy the cavalry-led wars that I typically have at this time - I love the speed of cavalry. All in all, the industrial era is normally where my civilization takes the lead - for good.

i would love the industrial-modern ages if the turns didnt take so long(both your turn and the ai turns)

Same choice, same reason, but with fewer Cavalry (Waiting for tanks, and fighting an Inf/Arty war ala WWI in the meantime)

I voted for Early Middle Age for the same reason as El Duderino.

late ancient.... love charging with tons of my mayan "slave maker" jav's

Early Ancient. I love the feeling of just starting out, a fresh expansion, no major conflicts, and new surprises with the terrain. The expansion phase is probably my favorite.

Early Industrial. Factories, artillery, and infantry. It is alot of fun.

Late middle ages. You get to use cavalry, if you got an army you can make a military academy, finally get some decent artillery, and blitkreig style fighting finally starts to become effective.

While I do like the ancient era, i prefer the modern era for all the tanks blitzes, artillery barages, air bombardment, naval assaults, high production and wealth generation...oh yeh and NUCLEAR HOLOCAUSTS

Is that better? :D

Early industrial. For the same reasons as Satchel (post #8) and SuperBeaverInc. (post #14).
