FfH GOTM?

I think it would be fun to have a FfH GOTM. Instead of winners by score, winners could be chosen by best write-up or most adventurous game or something different each time (sound familiar?). The winner could put together the next month's game and pick its winner, kinda low maintenance and self-sustaining that way. Of course, these are just some suggestions; any which way would be fine with me... :worship:

this sounds like a brilliant idea, actually very fitting for FfH, best writeup or at least most interesting game, for those without great writing skills but great ideas nd unconventional strategies ;)
Perhaps you can setup an example GOTM to learn from it and prepare for real GOTMs for Shadow?
 
Waiting for shadow may take a while till the Shadow release is stable.
 
I only have .25 installed; are many people still using .23?

I can definitely try to set a trial game up, though I was hoping someone more reputable might be interested, for added visibility and all that. :)
 
I would be interested. I have only 0.23 but I can upgrade to 0.25 on one of my computers.

I think it would be a great idea; problem now is about the worse time for it.

I probably wont bother unless it’s the latest 2.5. But by the time someone set up anything shadow will likely be out (fingers crossed).

It will get the best response if you – or whoever is volunteering to do the work waits until there is a stable shadow release.
 
A GOTM thread should be stickied on this board but not in this forum, the strategy subforum would be perfect for that.
 
I'm still searching for a nice start with a nice civ. I have one going with the Lanun, but it's a quick game, not sure if that's the right idea. Also, I finished all-in-all *starts counting* *stops counting* one game, so it may be better for someone with a bit more experience to commit...

Perhaps you're right though, and we should really wait for shadow to be cast. :)
 
I'd take a stab at writing one just for practice.
But what would be a good theme or twist to build a scenario around?

Duel of Dragons? Kurioates vs. Sheaim?

All evil start?

Order vs. Ashen veil (already founded, order in good, evil in AV; both good and evil have several cities. Or more twisted good civ just founded AV, evil civ just founded order, and Last Days trigger is set?)? Same but Infernals vs. angels?


Archipelago, and every civ but yours has OO in every city,while you are good with Order?
 
Could be interesting to do a "Battle of the Bulge" Infernals vs Mercurians. Give each of them a nicely resource heavy island with a minor span of water between.


Just to make things interesting, you could have another area that is isolated by a ring of peaks and ice in which there is a perma-war evil and good civ (angel/demon supply)

retold as a fairy tale.

Set-up:
Permanent war between the revolutionaries and imperials.
The Revolutionaries of New York played as Kurioates.
The Imperials played by the Lanun permanently allied to the Infernals.

All sides have bee-lined to Alchemy and Arquebus units.
The Imperials have bee-lined to Optics, Corruption of Spirit, and just built the Infernal Pact (the Infernals entering from overseas).
The Kurioates will get a balance of tile improvements, cities, and techs thru the Advanced start scoring system.

Victory: Capture New York City.
