Ffh Nes Ii

For you maybe, =P. Its ironic that the Os-Gabella worshiping country's only export is warm bed partners for fishermen, heh.

The Amurite Magus Hereby decree a Summon for the self proclaimed Jelhid to appear before him.
He will present his case and explain.

What do you think?
Not bad for completely homemade?
I'm not super happy with the forests/jungles/etc but the rest i am happy with.

I like it, it is very organic looking. Not sure how well borders and names and such would show up on it, but it looks amazing!

It does Look very nice... maybe rivers could be a bit darker.. they feel too bright, but on the whole, a very nice map.

Spoiler :
Do I get points for liking it?

Oh, and Immy, what is the rabble rouser's respons to his summon?

Posting, as requested by Immaculate, to confirm my involvement in the NES. I am looking forward to playing alongside you all!

To: People of the Bannor, Priest of Bhaal

You are summoned immediately to Council in your nearest city. Both Sabel and Vaelyn will be holding forums on the 21st of this month about the religions of Junil and Bhaal, which shall be attended by the greatest of Philosophers and Priests of the Bannor, and many from abroad.

During this forum we will discuss the merit of the faith of Bhaal and Junil, and the future of each.

Please note that this is not a punishment, and that we would value the imput of the commoners, who's beliefs are surely much more grounded and down to earth then the majority of our clergy, and who make up a significant portion of the population.

Refusal to attend will result in forced, unpayed labour in the mines, Seizure of property, or excecution, depending on the oppinion of your Lord.

Speech read out at various towns and villages.

OOC: Immy I do not approve of your assumption that we are Junil-loving crusaders. I intend to keep only to the very basic FFH lore. We are humans, we tend to be a bit melodramatic and bullying, the priests have a fair bit of power in governemnt. For now that is all we are.

You receive no response from the representatives of Jelhid but do continue to hear scattered reports of his continued preaching in the countryside outside of Nimarail.
Your ‘calling him out’ and his refusal to respond makes him look dishonourable and some Amurites can’t help but lose a bit of admiration for the preacher who doesn’t even have the courage to face the government he is agitating against.

I think this is a good idea. It will be very hard for the representatives of a god of mindless rage and passion to argue their case logically. Very tricky!

from the update said:
In Bannor lands Jelhid berates the government for its inaction in the face of obvious demonic activity, of its inability to deal decisively with the goblin threat and of the manipulations of the elders who still hang onto the out-dated and irrelevant teachings of Junil’s angel Sabathiel and of the Bannor hero Capri and the original five. Fortunately for the Bannor government, faith in their leadership is strong and the nation is stable. The people have only limited patience for the words of the self-appointed priest.

I am not sure how you were made to think that I assumed you were junil-loving crusaders. The accusations made in the update (quoted above) relate to what Jelhid is accusing.
Its my understanding that your people were saved from Hell by the angel Sabethiel but that their faith is mostly in the ‘original five’ and in the courage of their ancestors. There are probably people amongst your nation who do worship Junil (for his role in helping their ancestors escape Hell) but there are also people amongst your nation who worship some of the other gods (or their angels, or their ancestors, or sticks and rivers and stuff).
I hope that this clears up the matter but if you still disapprove of what I wrote or what I assume of your people, lets please try to resolve the issue via private message or e-mail.

Haha no I was just making sure you understand that now, so you don't get angsty later :p.

I was assuming you were asssuming.... or something...

hi, this looks really cool, but i'm an NES noob. and i'm kinda curious, how does this work?

Hello Nutranurse and Kenkrajen.

Nutranurse, fellow NESers

I can confirm that Nutranurse will be assuming control of the ‘White Mist Elves’ (though he is free to rename them as he sees fit.

The ‘White Mist Elves’ are a secretive race who have been living on the island to the east of Grigori lands. They are neither of the summer or winter courts and some say they may be related to the elves of the shadow valley (for those who know their Sidar or Malakim lore).

Ultimately Nutranurse will be free to play them as he sees fit and because they have relatively little open lore (because of their secretive nature and isolation), he can rewrite some of their history as he sees fit.

Nutranurse- I will be e-mailing you the stats for the White Mist Elves within a few days. I encourage you to post an ‘assumption of power’ speech or story to introduce who is in charge of your people and maybe lay some broad-stroke ideas as to how you want to proceed, at least on the foreign stage.

Kenkrajen,

The concept of a NES (never-ending-story), at least in this incarnation, is that each player assumes control of a nation (from the ‘fall from heaven’ world) and tries, through subterfuge, diplomacy, trade, building and war to shape their future as they like. Some will try to take over their neighbours. Others will want to dominate the political or trade scene. Others will attempt completely different paths. The direction each player takes their civilization is entirely up to them.

However, they successes and failures are bound by a system of rules. Each civilization produces a set number of gold, food and research based on the improvements they have built, the territory they control and the resources they have exploited or developed.

The game is broken up into turns and in each turn the players decide what they want to do with their turn. They can say things like ‘I want to build a new farm’ or ‘I want to attack neighbour ‘x’ with units ‘O,P,Q, and R’ for example. These are ‘orders’ and are sent privately (via e-mail) to the moderator (myself).

The moderator looks at all the orders and giggles to themselves softly over the mess the players get themselves into and also gapes in awe at the shear creativity and ingenuity the players utilize to advance their faction. When that’s done the moderator (or Mod for short) begins determining the outcome of all these orders. If for example two civilizations clash violently then the moderator will take into consideration the relative quality of the troops involved, the number of troops involved, the terrain, the local population, the quality of the orders (very important) including tactics and troop interactions and finally the randomness of a dice roll (I use a random number generator program from the web). Finally when all the orders are ‘integrated’ the moderator posts an update which tells everyone how successful their plans were and what other, unforeseen, events may have occurred.
I’ve also written quite a bit about the game and its rules on the first page of this thread which I invite you to peruse. Also, if you have specific questions, please don’t hesitate to ask- I am sure that either myself or another NESer will be more than happy to share their experience with you (we are generally a happy lot).

Lastly, if you are interested in playing, you can join as either the ‘Als or the Kappa as they are the last two civs that are open to being played at this time.

EDIT: the kappa are no longer available. All that remains is the slaver 'Als.

The Amurite Magus and Council again call Jelhid before him, giving him one last chance to honorably explain his beleifs. Should he refuse, a warrant for his arrest will be made out.

Additionally, each region will elect ten representatives to be present at the meeting, and report it's happenings to the people of thier region.

Hi all. I'd like to claim leadership of the Kappa. Immaculate, could you send me any backstory you have in mind (since they are not FfH canon, I'll have some work to do regarding their psychology). I'll send you a quick email so you have me on file.

Hello HBar,

I've sent you an e-mail detailing the history of the 'Kappa' and what they are. I've also sent their stats.
It might take a you a bit to have a look at all their stats and make sense of them (there's a lot going on there) but i am sure you'll learn quickly and it will make sense to you. If you want to e-mail or PM me any questions or post them publicly here, you are more than welcome to do so.

I look forward to seeing some of your writing and diplomacy.

Immac.

A messenger arrives with news. He has witnessed one of Jelhid's sermons and he says that Jelhid claims that the Amurite state has no authority over his person or those of his followers- that their only lord is the holy goddess Bhall.
The messenger claims that Jelhid made the point, during the sermon, that he will not partake in the 'puppet-show' that is Amurite politics and justice.
EDIT; the messenger also says he knows where to find Jelhid- at least during his sermons.

Let it henceforth be known throughout all lands that Jelhid is considered an outlaw, for having twice refused an Honorable summon from the Amurite Council and the Magus.
Let it be explained that Jelhid was invited to present his views to the council, and as he refused, he obviously has something to fear of an honorable presentation.
Any citizen who turns Jelhid in, living or dead, will be amply rewarded.

Also in an act of cooperation with our neighbors if Jelhid attempts to flee into Hippus lands he will be returned to the Amurites.

Everyone should have gotten their stats sent to them by now. If you are missing your stats please notify me somehow and i will send them.

There are three new players (who i believe are generally new to NESing also). These are Nutranurse (who will be playing the white mist elves), MasterofDisaster (who will be playing the Luchuirp) and HBar (who will be playing the Kappa). I would ask that the more experienced players provide any assistance that they can if the newer players ask for any clarification.

This will change the diplomatic environment somewhat but it should be fun for everyone.

@TheJopa: I'm going to NPC the Kuriotates for a bit incase you get some free time and can rejoin us
