We finally have 2 FfH Succession games going on, so I think I should start a thread to keep track of them, encourage new ones to be started, and discuss variants for new ones.

For those of you who don't know, Succession games are games where several players play a common game, switching ooff a intervals and writing AARs for their turns. There is entire Forum dedicated to them. If you want to start a SG for FfH, you are welcome to recruit here, test the waters for variants, etc. I encourage all of you to create SGs.

Excellent idea :goodjob:

SGs are an excellent way of discovering new and interesting ways toplay the game and the amazing depth of FfH is well suited to the format.

I have had a couple of people PM me (who were introduced to FfH from the SG) trying to get included in a new game, so if anyone is thinking about a new game there are certainly people out there interested.

Go on, you know you want to ;)

Same with my game, my one is huge one and tough, and may be will not run on later stakes on weak pcs, but you still wellcome to participate in debates and discussion.
Same with you , Ozebenno btw :)

yeah, I have some ideas

Since people seem to like the the idea of terraforming, I think Ljosalfar on a deliberately barren start with little if any forest would be quite fun.

Or Perpentach where he changes his traits randomly, with the restriction that we also have to change our playstyle to better suit his new traits.

Or we could just set up the opposite to the current game, take a Good leader but place mostly Evil leaders on the map and go on a massive crusade.

Just some ideas for new SGs. I like the terraforming idea.

Ozbenno is planning on starting a new Amurite SG, with details forthcoming

Here are the details....

As we all (sort of) know, during the Age of Ice Kylorin saved a small tribe (the Amurite) from extinction and started training them in magic, leading the Amurites to a level of organisation and advancement unrivalled by any other nation in the Age of Ice.

One day Kylorin upped and left without warning. In the official histories, he went on to kill Mulcarn and end the Age of Ice.

I want play with this story a bit and say that the greatest Amurite mages went with him and, as the thaw begins (going to have the End of Winter option set), this SG begins with the Amurites searching for Kylorin and their mages.

I'm going to build the map by hand and populate it with the leaders that are somewhat associated with Mulcarn or Kylorin or each other (Auric, Varn Gossam and Faeryl for sure), as well as a few hidden treats.

This is going to be a story-telling SG, rather than a gameplay SG (if that makes sense). Unfortunately, I have already sent invites, which if they are all accepted, means there may not actually be any open spots for this SG.

I will, however, be making a open invatation for people to post stories withing the thread about the leaders in the game (or anything related to the history of Erebus if its relevant) or the game itself, so there will be scope for involvement, even if you're not on the roster.

I'll post a link when the game is up.

Before then, if anyone knows other leaders that might fit into the story (and how they do so) please let me know, so I can add them into the game. Or some more background infor as well.

I'd go with the following civilizations

Good
Ljosalfar (Cerruneous protected them during the AoI, and they fought the Svartalfar)
Luchurip (Raised an army to stop Mulcarn from being summoned but were too late. Barnaxus was given life by Mulcarn)
Elohim (They protected the Sacred sites since the AoM, and continued to during the AoI)

Neutral
Amurites ( I don't need to explain this)

Evil
Illians (Duh...)
Doviello (Allied with Mulcarn during the AoI)
Svartalfar (Became independent before AoI, Fought the Ljosalfar)

The Amurites are alone as neutral players.

Some suggestions for the map:
Acheron could be pre placed in the city of Braduk the Burning
Yygrasidl could be placed in between the elves
The Illians should start beside the Letum Frigus
Lots of mountain ranges
The island beyond Mulcarn's reach os north of our starting position

You should separate the finished games from the in progress ones.

The Sheaim one has been completed.

Well, it's an honour that my name comes to mind if thinking about story-telling SGs, but actually Ozbenno started the Amurites SG :) ...

This topic really needs an update.

New games:

Now recruiting:
Hyborem's Whisper
A monarch-level Hyborem SG. Must win conquest, must push the AC to 100.

Already in progress:
The Grinning Jester
An emperor-level Perpentach SG where everyone plays unpredictably and clownishly.

The previously listed ones:

Slvynn's Powerhouses and Giant Struggles
Unfinished, but abandoned about two months ago. Can probably be labeled as over. Maybe this deserves a new category: abandoned.

DMI IX- The Vampire Wolrd and the Tower of Mastery
Finished with a victory. Over.

Paradise Regained
Finished with a victory. Over.

Leader's Tale: Valledia the Even
Still going strong. EverNoob's dragging arse and holding things up right now.
