FfH2 0.20 Bug Thread

Are there any special requirements for the spell Crush? I have my Hemah sitting outside of Hyborem's last city and the spell cursor only shows up on (seemingly) random tiles. He could cast rust properly, so I'm not sure what the deal is.

Sentry I and Sentry II are cumulative. +3 visual range is just insane for land units.

It does take the size of the continent into account so they are more likely to spawn on larger continents (I dont want them to spawn on an island). Outside of that its pretty random, and even the continent size is just one of the things it weights on, not always a hard rule.

This makes sense except that I always play the Fantasy Realm map which is a scrolling land mass mostly.

BTW the Avatar spawned on the border of my civ with Calabim.

So, that makes the final tally:

2 Games

6 Horsemen
2 Avatars

All on a huge map with 9 AI civs at the time.

Random? :crazyeye:

Not sure about this one so I think I will ask:

Both are regarding the disappearance of your units in Counter 90 and Counter 100.

Counter 90: The message is that 'some of your units went to the afterlife and will serve Hyborem/Basium' or something like that

It appears that all the units became barb units linked up with the Avatar of Wrath. I couldn't see all, but do any join Basium/Hyborem?

Counter 100: Do Hyborem or Basium lose units like the rest of the civs including mine?

The reason I ask is that I was at war with the Infernal and saw two stacks of his units approaching my civ. One had 6 units, the other 3.

After the Counter hit 100, my defending stack of 5 was left with only an Elven Adept. However, Hyborem's two stacks were intact and had not been reduced. I opened the World Builder and both Hyborem and Basium appeared to have plenty of units while the other civs were greatly reduced.

PS. This time I deleted The &^*!! Trojan Horse before Counter 100. I lost Yvain, the Baron, and Gilden, but kept Kythra and Typhoid Mary. Hate to lose those heroes!!!

some spell issues attached

first two screens are selecting then after casting charm person

third is the elohim trying to cast peace (pops up almost every turn)

I think disbanding prophecy mark units doesn't lower the Armageddon Counter.

Hasn't anybody else tried the new Crush spell yet?

And a question about Rust. Isn't Rust supposed to remove the weapons upgrade? If not, it probably should. Would make the spell actually useful.

I don't know if this is intentional or not, so I'm documenting it.

Animals gain experience after level 10, but even after hitting 101 points (or much much higher) don't actually level.

On the other hand, early Subdue Animal on a scout gives some silly powerful units for the era. Especially on marathon maps. The first barbs are 1 and 2 str, but Tigers, Lions, and Bears (oh my) have 3 and 4 str. Plus these units, especially the spider, are sickly useful in torturing your opponents by sniping off scouts, workers, etc.

A nearly foolproof way to capture a spider with a scout: Combat I, Subdue, Woodsman, Guerilla(only 17 exp total), and find a spider next to a wooded hill. Congrats on your new spider next turn. Early in 0.20 the poison meant going to a friendly city to heal, now you can heal on your own.

Unfortunately, its the only way to get caged animals, effectively forever. Unless you rush for the ritual to convert barbarians then about the time you get them is the time barbarians disappear. Also, the ability to get caged bears without a carnival was given because they're the strongest animals - except now spiders are, and their cage doesn't even give happiness. Just silk.

i saw a gorilla today!

the elohim keep declaring war on me then whenever i get within 1 tile of their cities, they cast peace and kick me out of the borders. also it only cancels war with their civ (think its supposed to be all civs?). so, theyre kinda invincible...

Yeah I tried it. Pretty sure that the only requirement for casting crush is an Earth III archmage and a spot with an enemy unit on it. Also the spell only has a range of 1 + the number of spell extensions the caster has.

Ok, so I tried it again and it worked, but I got the following python error.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, but I have found that it is possible to have several cities working on elegy of the sheaim at the same time. I thought that rituals should be like wonders in that you can only be working on them in one city at any time.

Reminds me of the very nice installer of the Total Realism mod. It finds all the right directories by it's own. Just a look in the windows registry I suppose. Would be nice to have something like this for FFH2 too, because I know a lot of people which messed up the installation of FF2 by pointing to the wrong directory.

So the installer doesn't find the 2020 directory then?

Were all of the cities contributing to the production, or were each of them building their own?

Elegy of the Sheaim is not only buildable in multiple cities but also multiple times. This is by design.

Is it normal that you can research Mithril Working without Metal Casting who reveal mithril ?

And Kael do you plan to move reveal Gunpowder to Alchemy (like copper, iron, mitrhil) ?

Playing with patch h, huge map, 16 civs, between normal and the slowest speed (epic I think). I'm at turn 300 and still no Archeron. Orthus spawned at ~130. I've played at this speed before and I recall Archie showing up by now. Has anything changed with his spawn settings? Can anyone else verify this behavior?
