Social Caste:
1. The Nobles - Self explanatory. The nobles are generally wealthy and have the vast majority of political power in Danmarj. Most nobles become so through birth but a rich enough merchant can apply for nobleship with the current Noble Council, who elects the leader of the nation and creates laws.
2. Clerics - They enjoy enormous privileges, though few actual political powers. They act not as the voice of Pa, but as his most devout worshipers. Their needs are provided by the state.
3. Merchants - This class controls much of the trade and goods that enter and exit the Glorious Horde. They wield a great deal of power and often have conflicting goals with the nobles. A generally wealthy class, they are the lowest class of people that are still citizens.
4. Slaves - The backbone of the Danmarji way of life, economy, and infrastructure, the slaves are captured peoples from conquered tribes - or people who sold their children into slavery. Most slaves were born slaves; the living conditions for slaves, while not on par with the nobles, occasionally exceed that of the merchants - a "happy" slave is one not looking to revolt. Their cares are provided for as best as possible by their masters; their masters can apply for aid if they run on hard times, but slaves will be eventually taken away if such action continues and put to work on public works projects. Killing a slave is punishable by death. Maiming a slave (other than as encouragement) is frowned upon, but not illegal. A child born by a slave father and a free woman, or a slave mother and a free father, will automatically receive citizenship.

The man knealt upon the soil, driving the handmade spear into the dirt.

"Jericho. As it was the oldest city on Earth, so it shall be here."

And thus, the Tāngata spread across the new world, creating a bizarre blend of cultures and ethnicities, in an attempt to both distance themselves from the old world, yet tie themselves to their roots.

As time went on, however, such attempts proved fruitless. In a world which lacks even antiquated vehicles, the concept of a homeland capable of reaching the stars faded into the domains of myth and fable, and the roots of a new culture were seeded. A new language arose, derived from an amusing attempt to be demographically neutral, and thus incorporating words and terms from a myriad of the homeworld's languages, particularly those that had either died or approached that fate.

The world as we know it was forgotten, and the one that replaced it was strange, indeed.
