NHL 200X, NFL 200X, NCAA football 200X ... are fun titles for people who like sports.

Yes, IMO, of all the sports games the best ones are made by EA Sports.

Devil May Cry, the first one not the second.

I think EA Sports are still the best ones overall but I tried some of Sega's stuff and NFL 2k3 was better than its EA counterpart.

the only part I liked better about nfl 2k3 was the way you select plays, I thought the AI was the pits though.

Mm...keep your eye out for "Star Ocean: Till the End of Time" which is coming out sometime this fall. The Star Ocean series is really good. And perhaps you should try the second game in the series beforehand, "Star Ocean: The Second Story". It's for the original Playstation, but it's really fun, too. The first Star Ocean was never released in the US, though, and I think it's the best one...

*has not read any posts but the first*

If you can get a Resident Evil, you should. Kick ass game. Need a little time to get a hang of it.

Please consider Pro Evolution Soccer 3, it is equal to Fifa if not better.

I dunno, off-beat western RPG games I like (fall out), Japanese counterparts are inventive and snazzy but don't appeal so much, gameplay or otherwise.

Ive never understood this love affair with Halo, I must be one of the only people that truly dislikes that game.

There are several reasons people like Halo. I think the first and fore most is the ability to connect 16 people to one game. It's one of the first console games to do that. It also has very intuitive controls, is easy to learn, and has a simple interface. I've seen better graphics and a wider array of weapons (Unreal Tournament 2004), but I think Halo is cool because it doesn't have a lot of the frills that other FPS do.

Oh, and you're not the only one that doesn't like it. My brother-in-law wouldn't eat lunch in the same room as a Halo disk. He hates the game.

@Immortal: I do not like Halo either, so there are at least two of us. :D

My recommendation for the PS2 is Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2. The first one was great, but they actually managed to make a great improvement over it (and they should have, considering how long it was delayed in being released).

Well I dunno about the graphics on Xbox as compared to PS2... they're both pretty much on the same level (i.e. beating GameCube into the ground). I'll admit, XBox does have better titles (ahem Halo).

Hm? What's that you say? "Beating Gamecube to the ground"? That, to put it bluntly, could not be further from the truth.

So I am rather curious why so many people think the Gamecube is the worst. Perhaps it was because it launched in that purple color, despite the fact that the platinum Gamecube looks the best out of all the consoles. Maybe it's because Nintendo refuses to go online, one debate that has been done to death. Lack of third party support? Disturbing, yes, but the Gamecube does have it's own fair share of third party exclusives, and ones that really matter.

I personally prefer the Gamecube. But, I do take a liking to all three consoles, something that's rather rare, I would think. I would love a PS2 just for the upcoming Final Fantasy XII and Metal Gear Solid 3 alone. For the Xbox, Ninja Gaiden and the vast array of shooters, even if I personally don't like them.

But I still prefer the Gamecube. Why? First parties, obviously. Words cannot put to justice of how much fun I have had with my friends in playing SSBM, Mario Kart alone, not to mention all the other party games I have. Wind Waker, despite the constant bashing of both the cel-shaded graphics and the sailing, was one of the most beautiful games I ever played. And Metroid Prime was perhaps the most epic I have seen. But contrary to popular belief, Gamecube DOES have quite a few very good third-party exclusives, ranging from Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles to the upcoming Resident Evil 4. And for multi-platforms the Gamecube is no slouch either, where the graphics difference between the GCN and Xbox versions are so small they can only be viewed on a high-definition television.

Of course, people always feel the need to bring up the argument about going online. Personally, I don't care about going online, and neither do 98% of the gamers. A nice addition, undoubtedly, but not a necessary one.

This Gamecube fanboy rant brought to you by :)

First of all, the Gamecube controller is without doubt the worst console controller in recorded history. The ps2 controller is perfection itself.

Secondly, however many good third party games you can list for Gamecube, there are many times more for ps2, and ps2 third party games (which is all of them I guess) are all well established within the gaming community. I don't see Ace Combat 5 being made for Gamecube.

Thirdly, Gamecube simply sucks, and no one will buy it. Nintendo should just stick to handhelds, they've totally lost the console market to Sony.

I'm certain you can provide data for that assumption, right? You know, evidence that the GameCube has not sold...

Opinion. The original Xbox controller takes the prize for worst controller in my eyes (although the S-controller is very good, though). Either way, bringing such an opiniated argument in determining a console as awful is quite weak.

That is true. But the Gamecube has SOME third-party support, and most act like it has absolutely none. What the Gamecube lacks in third-parties, it makes up with its first-parties.

Over ten million people beg to differ. The fact that Sony has reached the 40-50 million mark with the PS2 does not void the fact that the Gamecube has sold over ten million, neck-and-neck with Xbox sales.

Check the location....

And for all of you Xbox fans out there....GTA:San Andreas won't be out for xbox until sometime next year. Us PS/2'ers only have four more months to wait....

Although I've seen the previews for Halo2. I might just buy an xbox for that alone....

I've got a Gamecube too. I have to say, I don't think one's better than the other. The only thing I don't like about the gamecube is it's smaller disc size. But I've played Enter The Matrix on both the Gamecube and PS/2, and there was very little difference between them. Just the controller setup.... And the need for two disc on the GC.

The xbox will never compete with ps2 in my eyes, the controller is terrible, there are no good games that I have seen, halo was probably the best on the console but thats on pc there, most of the best games are probably either on ps2 anyway, as they are ports.

If I really wanted to see great graphics, thats what I have a 2.7 GHz pc for, though I am quite happy playing mega drive games with 16 bit graphics, at least they had decent enough games for it without having to buy out other companies to do it.

Also that green colour, I mean how can they sell games in boxes that look like they have come out of someones nose? :D :p

There is a rumour that xbox 2 will be running on a windows system, whats the betting if that is the case, the first few shipments are faulty, and the users complain they get a blue screen of death on start up.:D:lol:

Metal Gear Solid series, Twisted Metal 2 (But none of the others, they all suck), FFX, and whatever else strikes your fancy.

Gamecube - Best games but not many of them
Xbox - Best graphics, not many games
PS2 - Average graphics, tons of games, a few good ones.

Don't look down on Final Fantasy 7.
It is without a doubt one of the greatest games ever made.
And the storyline is anything but boring.
Even though its old, if you haven't played it yet, its a must.

Final Fantasy 9 is also good, but comes nowhere near 7.
