Find no profile

I change a computer to play civ4\warlord\beyond the sword.
Everytime I enter the game, all my settings are missing. Finally I found in the game "option" -> "other" -> "profiles", there is no profile for me to choose, even the default profile.
Did anyone encounter the same error?

It is just a case of poor labeling by Firaxis. If you click the Create New Profile button and leave the text as Default Profile, your current settings will be saved as the default and that is the way the game will open in the future. This will even include any settings that you change in Custom Game. I use this approach all the time.

Thanks for your reply. I have tried this way. Civ4 tells "default profile is saved." But entered the game again, my setting is still missing. Nothing is saved.

Are you using WIndows 7? If so, have you set the game to have administrative privileges? If not so set, the OS will not allow the game to save changes. This applies to the default installation location, if you install a program in the Programs folder (the default location).

I have already give the program administrative privilege, but still there is no profile found and none of my setting was saved.

Perhaps something went wrong with the installation. You could try reinstalling. I have no further ideas. You might also try asking in the Technical Support forum. Although the traffic is low there, several technically expert members do provide help there but you need to be patient since they don't check in there every day.

I find the problem. I install the game in an English path, but my OS user is Chinese. The game needs to use the path C:\Users\My user name\AppData\Local\My Games\Beyond the Sword\Profiles. The path is hiden. Because my user name is Chinese, so the program cannot find the path.

The solution is very easy. Create another OS user. The username is English. Start the game with that user. The profile can be found.
