Good moaning!

I feel pretty stupid for asking this, but how do I check what relations a certain AI has with the other sponsors? How do I check who any particular AI is at war with? This is pretty basic info but I can't for the life of me find it.

There are two ways to find out in vanilla.

First is to check the notification log. It takes some parsing, but you can find out current wars going on that way.

The second is to go to an AI you are curious at their war status with others. Go to Discuss > Let's declare war against...

If the leader's name you want them to declare war on isn't on the list it means they are already at war with them or on a truce which has a timer.

Not really simple as it was in Civ 5 or Civ 4, but still possible to find out digging around.

Thanks for the answer. Yet another thing the incompetent muppets at Firaxis have messed up. I can't believe how many holes this game has. And I payed full retail price for it. Relations between sponsors is VERY basic information and should be easily browsed, at least after having built spy agency.

An even better way is to download the Info Addicts mod. You get all the information that you got in CivV and more.

I was quite shocked to find this information missing since it's been in every previous version of Civ. How can you not have a simple graphic with colored lines or something to show faction relationships?

Along with this, where is my:
* City management screen showing what each city is building, their production levels, etc.
* Military management screen showing what units I have, their disposition, etc.

These were staples of previous releases, how could they have been left out? Am I missing something? Is there a menu I'm not seeing?

You can access them by clicking on the "plus" symbol around the red circle that I draw on those pics.

Perhaps more than the lack of UI features, the problem is how little intuitive and visible the way to access those features is.

Well, now I feel just a little stupid for not having known that. Though as you point it, it's less than intuitive that a small plus sign in the corner of the screen would provide the information I was looking for.

Cheers!

I only found those by guessing at Fx hot keys hoping they would work as in other civ games. Thanks for pointing out the plus.

The most concerning part about it is that since Alliances work very differently than the Defensive Pacts of old, you could make an Alliance with someone and unwittingly be pulled into a war you had no idea / had forgotten was going on.
