I hear that the woman's aunt died very recently. . . they are looking into exhuming the body. I don't know how accurate this is; I heard it on a fairly unreliable radio news/entertainment show.

Frivolous lawsuits are settled everyday because it costs more to defend it that to give a lunatic plaintiff enough bucks to go away.

There is a very important phrase in the strategy of handling a lawsuit known as "nuisance value" Even if I know I have an absolute winner of a case that I can get rid of on preliminary motions its still going to cost the defendant around 5-10K to make an appearence, examine the facts, read the Complaint and documentation, put together and file Answer and prepare a Motion to Dismiss. If I can get a plaintiff to settle at 2-5K it makes more sense economically. Thats nuisance value.

We know what finger to give her, for this scam. :shakehead Unfortunately for Sims, this will spark more legislation to stop these lawsuits. It is sad that some people will stoop to that level to get some money. I was thinking along the lines of Friendly Fire, because of the Wendy's in Australia. The only hot food they sell is hot dogs, definitely no fingers there.
