i cant open another game starting in 4000 bc, and start building warriors, i am sick of it.
i only played 5 games so far, i love the game, but god damnet, building the oracle isnt what turns me on.
the thing i liked most about civ2 were the scenarios, i mean, its amazing, even now, on this site, civ2 keeps on being relevant, only because of the scenarios.
they said june, but its not out yet.
i am really dissapointed at them anyway, even if they release it tomorrow, the scenarios should have been there from the start, and just because they wanted to get the game out before master of orion, doesnt mean we have to pay for it.
so firaxis, save some of you hurt reputation(so do you sid) , and release that f***ed up editor already.

This is exactly why programmers hate to set release dates. Because if they miss it by even a few days, the whole place raises hell. They said that they'd HOPEFULLY have it out by June.

It WILL come, and soon, I'm sure, especially if you watch how Dan and Mike and other COME HERE AND HELP AND LISTEN!!!!!

Would you rather have a buggy editor or a late one?????

You know, Firaxis would probably respond better to a more objective, more thoughtful, less confrontational statement of your point of view....

Real SCENARIOS should have been out in NOVEMBER when the game was released.

Firaxis didn't choose the release date, Infogrames did. They did what they could in the alotted time.

not a good point.
if you look at the chat logs of the chat with the firaxis team, you will find out i posted 2 questions regarding the scenarios.
the first one, said it was an amazing game, but yet , many of us feel that the scenarios should have been when the game released, and that it was a very dissapointing surprise for most of us that it wasnt.
to that they responded shortly: "who told you there were going to be scenarios in the game? we didnt say it "
i told them right back that no one promised me there will be a save and load option in the game, its pretty obvious.
and then they said : i really dont know what to tell you , we are doing our best bla bla bla...
so thats where being nice gets you....
if they really check out the forums, they should find out that what they did made them lose lots of credit , and that may prevent another dirty (yes dirty) move like this on civilization 4.
thats my only point, i just dont want it to happen again.

Lose lots of credits with a handful of fans, you mean.

A number of us would rather have the game quicker without scenario than have to wait another eight months for the game just so that there can be scenarios with it.

Personally, having a game in hand eight months quickers because they release the scenario editor later as a patch doesn't sound bad - or dirty - at all to me.

And there's a freaking difference between save/load options and a scenario editor. One, you can't seriously play the game without. The other is an extra. An extra which is extremely common, and was included in Civ II, but hardly essential to play the game (though it *IS* my favorite part of it, I must admit).

I want Civ V now. I don't want to wait. I WANT IT NOW! Firaxis has had months -- months! -- since CivIII was released. I want Civ V now.

 :aargh3:  :aargh3:

;)

Civ5? Excellent, when's it out?
