**UPDATE**

There is now a way to get an English tech poster mailed to you.

There is also a downloadable version of the English tech poster available.

**END UPDATE**

Just got this email from Firaxis:

Hi Rob,

2K Games has determined that a small number of units of Civilization IV
incorrectly included the French Canadian tech tree poster due to an error at
an assembly plant. They will definitely be replacing these at their cost and
will have information on their website at www.2kgames.com shortly. We
apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Well, considering it wasn't Firaxis' fault and they're not going to be the ones correcting it I don't think they have any idea when or where it will be posted. ;)

I headed to EB today to pickup my pre-order CIV IV, fully expecting the French Tech Tree (because I'm usually the guy, not unlike most of you, who always seems to fall into the 'small number of people who got scre**d' group).

Well, as expected, French Tech Tree! I wasn't willing to ask the manger to open every pre-order copy and stick my fellow CIV IV buddies; besides, odds are the whole store shipment is the same anyway.

My EB manager did the next best thing and opened a REGULAR copy of CIV IV - lo and behold, ENGLISH TECH TREE. So, we made a swap and I'm :D

Needless to say, check your CIV IV before leaving the store, and have them open a non pre-order copy to give you an English Tech Tree if necessary.

At least the issue is being addressed. Better than some companies out there...

so did he open a NON-Special Edition copy?.. do those also have this same tech tree inside it? i thought it might only come with the S.E. ones.

or did he open a non-preorder S.E. copy?

DryIceX, he opened a NON PREORDER COPY. It still comes with a tech tree, but was probably packaged on a separate line from the PREORDER version and therefore got the right tech tree.

BTW, I'm in Hartford, CT if anyone is looking for a regional commonality in French vs. English tech tree.

I don't know if the tech tree is included in the regular version ( which I will buy ) but, if it's the case and I get the english version, I would be willing to trade with anyone who got the french canadian version ( since I'm a french Canadian and fully bilingual... )

If it's not in the regular version and anyone wants to get rid of it's French tech tree version I'm willing to pay the shipping cost to get it...

Thanks...

Extro :)

I got the English version but really, I think I would just take the time to learn a little more French and stick with that poster. :)

**Salutes 2K**

They are doing 100% the right thing here. :goodjob:

My color laser printer (here at work) is printing the pdf as I type

AWESOME

PS. tho my cds LOOK defective (ie: in the light.. you can see sections missing.. like some of the written portions flaked off).. but it installed fine..

does anyone else have cds that look like that?

Gotta agree, they did step up and address the problem right away, no "mail in your reciept" nonsense... assuming the new posters do get mailed ;)

My copy still hasn't arived yet, but the the PDF will help to satiate my appetite until the UPS truck comes in the morning. It's nice to see there is a solution in place already, that will calm my nerves whille I wait.:)

Anyone have an idea how to print the posters on a A4 printer? They are big and don't scale down very well. I think it would be better to chop them down, but I don't know how to do that in pdf, except by taking screenshots which takes too long.
