Turn 290: 1840AD - Diplomatic
Played on a small map as Mongolia because I heard they are arguably the easiest civ to play as. Rest of the settings were Continents/standard time.
I started off with 12 horses in my vicinity and the Fountain of Youth. The Fountain is pretty gamebreaking but I would say the 10 happiness from it was more OP than the healing. With an early Keshik rush I didn't take much damage.
Anyways, I used my GE on the Hagia and then another for Notre Dame (PT was taken).
The first city was the hardest for me to take. India's capitol with 36ish defense + great wall. The reward was too good for me to pass though. He had a weak military and my reward was the PT, forbidden palace(Built the turn that i took it
), great wall, and Himeji Castle. After that I steamrolled my continent, leaving 2 cities for india and 1 for the Ottomans (His Sipahi gave my Keshiks a lot of problems at first).
Originally I was going to go for a Stealth Bomber rush like in most LPs I watched but 1 opponent hit modern before I was out of Renaissance. Also I got over 5000 gold from India in a peace deal, so I switched to a diplomatic victory focus. I probably could had pulled out a domination victory but I felt like I had a better chance at diplomacy.
I got beat to the UN by 3 turns but it didn't matter, I allied every single CS and had 9k gold to spare. Only one person built apollo & 0 parts.
I want to thank the community, especially the ones who make LP videos. They really help in figuring out what you're doing wrong and how to do better.
What I learned:
Early domination of your continent is essential for the long run of the game. It allowed me to keep pace with gold and science to some extent.
Finally, a few screenshots:

My 3 cities and my empire. (That GS is a phantom)
