I've just bought Civ IV and so far haven't played it very much. However, when I start a game, all I see for the other civ leaders are eyes and teeth instead of a full face. When I play, no matter how much ground I uncover, it all looks black. I was expecting to have grasslands etc become visible.

Is this how it is or have I got to change a setting somewhere?

Incidentally, when I start creating leaderheads for Civ IV, I really don't want to do the eyes and teeth stuff!!

this isn't really the right forum for this post...

However, the issue you're having is most commonly attributed to not having a video card that fully meets the requirements.

You're right. Gosh, I should know that by now :mischief: !

Thanks for the response though.

Getting back on track for this forum, once I can work out how leaderheads function in Civ IV, I'm hoping to do a Civ IV version of Boudicca :) .

You'll also have to give them personal animations (Ceasar giving a thumbs up/down, Catherine slapping (she needs to control her temper...), Genghis Khans facial hair flying around, etc) though.
Yep, I believe I can do that too ;) .
Sadly, I've got what's known as the "Cheshire Cat" syndrome! I'll have to see if I can upgrade my hardware  .

Back to the leaderheads, as soon as I view them in-game, I'll be trying to emulate them. It'll be a harder job than Civ III, but I'm up for the challenge!

@CivArmy s 1994 : How far are you with your Civ IV leaderheads, Dan?
