Warlord
Alright. Not much of a story teller but I'd figure I'd try posting a game. Mostly just the bare basic info with a good amount of screenshots. This thread may take some editing as I'm not used to posting the text with pictures so it may take some fiddling.
Here are the game settings, G&K exp pack for those wondering. Knocked it down about 2 difficulties as I didn't want to embarrass myself if I made a mistake. Notice I added 2 more civs than the usual 8 for the standard map. Also, I disabled time victory as I dislike the game expiring before I get to play around with the end game units.

Turns out the random civ I got was Arabia. This is good as I never had problems playing them. also got a nice start for desert folklore and a possible Petra.

After doing the usual researching of pottery first to get a shrine up I notice via exploring with my warrior and scout I built that there was a ton of desert tiles which will be nice if I get the folklore Pantheon.

In this pic I encountered Askia. Also, north area of my capital seems to be tundra which means i'll expand south first a bit.

Normally I'd grab liberty policy first considering the area I explored, but I decided to nab the first tradition policy so my culture area would expand rapidly to grab all the desert tiles, especially if I pull of Petra. Also of note, after researching pottery I went for calendar for the incense and mining for the silver.

Figured with all that desert I'm bound to get some iron, so I decided to build some warriors and take the free worker from the liberty tree instead of building one. I'll use the warriors in the meantime to fortify on the resources to prevent barbs pillaging.

Here you can see me grabbing the liberty opener.

Found Askia's capital.

After finishing calendar and mining, I queue up the currency tech in hopes to get Petra.
