There is a known issue that affects some people playing this mod and it can be very annoying.

By the way can people please give me feedback on what the correct terminology for some of these things are so I can edit this post and make it concise. Also a more descriptive title for this post?

The unit description popup when a unit "icon" (the one down the bottom on the PLE) is moused over doesn't disappear. It obscures some important stuff like combat odds. So you don't know whether your hero is going to be killed by a goblin.

The way to get around this is to select a different unit then move the mouse over their icon on the PLE and then move the mouse away.

I think Kael said it has something to do with the unit formation buttons on the line between the map and the order buttons. The buttons are apparently a separate mod that has been incorporated into FfH. I never use them, but never get an answer when I ask if theres a way to remove them.

Yeah, thats where it comes from (the PLE). There is no easy way to remove them. I've made a couple tries to keep it leaving that popup window up (its only supposed to display when you mouse-over the unit), but I havent been able to work it out yet.

Here's an answer that I gave not too long ago:

Whenever the text sticks, all you have to do to unstick it is to mouse-over the same type of text that caused it. For instance, if the unit details are stuck, then mouse over a unit icon. If improvement details are stuck, mouse over an action button (like Build Road). If PLE button details are stuck, then mouse over one of them.

If that is unclear, I'm willing to go through the effort to make it very clear.

I know moving the mouse over the same type of object that caused the popup will clear it. It is just an annoyance that breaks the flow of the game.

problems with mouse-up mouse-down and mouse-over?
have the new mouse-over close all info-overs(at the begining, before the new info-over is displayed), even if not of the same type...
since it doesn't make sense to distinguish ple's by type for the purpose of closing them, if they all take up the same space

It is very annoying breaking the game flow and can steal you precious turn time in MP. I hope you will find some good solution for this one day Kael.

Right now i think there is more important stuff to do though. God ble....erhm... Hyborem doom there is a very easy solution to get around it.

With my workaround you can just select something new to replace the text with new text, then mousover the icon to remove the text. That way you don't have to hunt around for the same unit that has caused it. I have got it to be a very quick reflex.

You don't need the same unit in most cases, just the same source of text. I'm very big on short-cuts, hot keys, and generally not wasting time. I found switching units for this problem to be a time waster compared to just mousing over similar buttons.

I believe this problem is caused by keyboard shortcuts for multiple/partial selection of units in stacks. To avoid the problem you can avoid using keyboard shortcuts (ALT+mouseclick and CTRL+mouseclick) and use the interface icons instead. I haven't tested thoroughly though, since for me this issue is just a glitch, far from being an annoyance.

If you can still edit the title, "tooltip" is a better term than popup, which aren't bugged in FFH2 (I must say the title led me to pass over the thread for a while)

The only place I use the keyboard is in the city screen to bump new production in front of or behind my current production, so I don't think that's it.

I disagree with this, but I'll check it out in my next game. What I've found to cause the text sticking is when you execute an action while there is mouse-over text. However, this doesn't cover all cases, either, so it's hard to say.

By the way, I've noticed this becoming an issue starting with Warlords, but just not nearly as bad. Once in a while, I'd have the text from worker buttons stick when I've clicked the button to execute the action.

I suggest the PLE Mouse Over Info Pane, as that is what the creator of the PLE called it.
