1.) If you have damaged ships in your fleet, or not enough men, your fleet speed will be reduced on the "campaign map".
2.) the type of ships does not matter, not affecting speed at all?
3.) regardless if your flagship is a Royal Sloop or a lame War Galleon cruising against the wind, it does not matter (?)
4.) so I assume, fleet speed is only based on one thing: damage of sails / hull and crewlevel.
5.) But if you have 7 100% perfect ships and one badly damaged, will the badly damaged ship slow down the whole fleet?
I think and got the impression: YES.
So I came to the following conclusions:
Fleet Speed is based on
- Navigation skill bonus
- various instruments related to Navigation
- you must have enough crew
- less crewmen gives a penalty
- the speed of your badliest damaged ship
--> but obviously not on ship type.
Does anyone agree, can someone confirm these observations or did you get other insights?
