Floating heads!

I've been wondering about this for a while. Some units in my games, most notably Hill Giants and a bunch of Amurite units and also I think the Dwarven Hammer unit, are simply displayed as "floating heads" with weapons. I'm not sure if this is a consequence of missing artwork or my low-end graphics (I play on a laptop with about a gig of RAM and not much of a video card to speak of). Anyone else had this problem or know how it might be fixed?
 
It's more annoying than anything, but if it's just a graphical shortcoming in my system I can live with it. The main problem is it makes hill giants hard to see and, thus, avoid. I though maybe if one of the modders knew of a particular graphical trick common to the Amurite warriors etc and the Hill Giants, they should be aware it ain't showing up on my crappy laptop.
 
It might be just a case of the graphics adapter running out of space. My dad's laptop has only 32MB of video ram and, while it runs Civ4 ok, the animals symbolizing strategic resources were not displayed.

(This was in vanilla; the issue resolved itself with the move to Warlords 2.08. Apparently the latest patch also brought some optimizations to video ram usage.)
 
The floating teeth and eyes always scared the bejesus out of me before the first vanilla patch. I feel your pain with the Floating heads...
 
Could it be a T&L issue? What GPU is in the laptop?
 
These units are made by Sez, but i can speculate on the reason of your problem.

I think, correct my Sez if I'm wrong, that is because this units only have a shader version and you graphic car is unable to read shader version of the model. Kael point in his xml the shader version to the model for both (shader and nonshader) if he only have a shader version.

We have a lot of model that have the same problem. We will have to fix that for the next phases.
 
I've been thinking of getting a new laptop.

MY current laptop is no good for FFH although I play on the desktop 100% of the time.

Does anyone play FFH on a laptop who could pass on a recommendation?

I do like to play huge maps in marathon setting.

Well I'm fairly certain my graphics carrd can't do the shading thing, so that's probably it. Some of the other units it doesn't show are Bambur and the skeletons.

I dont know if its worth to rework it, cause if your card is too old to show shaders, then most of your time also your system is too old to play the game for a longer time?!
