i thought it was only jungle where you got this...?

Flood plain aswell. THe fast food will make up for the disaese though.

Disease lowers your score, and I've heard that granaries help health, so maybe building those will help. This is where the Pyramids are a godsend.

Disease won't stop until sanitation. Just turn the city into a settler farm so it doesn't get to big.

I'm pretty sure they don't. There is no building flag for reducing % chance of disease, only a tech flag for removing the chance of disease from Floodplains (currently Sanitation).

It seems like dying from disease on floodplains usually happens two turns in a row and then stops for a long time. I think I read that in a thread a very long time ago, and it seems to hold true. Does anyone know for certain?

Same with jungle, although jungles might have the disease periods closer together.

Flood plain disease will last two turns. In theory, I believe, it could happen again on the third turn (back to back incidence) but I have never seen this happen. As for the granarys, they do not lower the chance of disease striking you but will help recover the lost population.

The only thing that stops disease is sanitation. Granaries don't help.

It comes from Jungle, Floodplains, and Marsh (in Conquests).
