Awhile ago a few people here said that they might join this game at www.footiemanager.com and I thought I would start this thread to see if any of you have actually joined and if so, what team are you?

Anyone that decides to join now should aim to join game 7 and then possibly in the French division 2 as thats where me and Willem are.

I'm tempted to play, although I'm a bit rusty. It's been years since I last played CM.
But I have a problem. It says that the matches are played at 17:00 GMT on Sat and Wed. However, I know for sure that I won't be able to be in front of a computer everytime there is a match. What can I do then? Can I set up my team in advance for the match (which won't be a great idea if the goalie is sent off)? Or can the matches be postponed by mutual agreement?

BTW, who's doing better? You or willem? ;)
Didn't Hitro register too some while ago?

Just try occasionally to join and you should eventually get a game 7 team as several teams are "unmanaged". You pick your tactics before the game and then the assistant manager makes any necessary changes during the game so you don't have to be online whilst the game is played.

I'm third, Willem is 19th, but we are both out of the cup.

Then, I'll register when I get home. I'm at my working place right now.

Hmm... but didn't willem say somebody would be sacked? Are every administrations happy about their managers. Lavalois (or whatever) shouldn't. I mean, 19th place... :mischief: :D
Or when they say there aren't any spots available that includes the ones who are already waiting too?

Its strange, game places don't seem to become available straight away. In our division Creteil are unmanaged but you cannot take them over. Willem had to try to join for a couple of days and then he got in, so there may be some kind of priority given to registered managers.

What the hell. I just registered and they gave me immediatly the command of Creteil. I guess they realised who are the real professionals.
All right Dell and willem, let's play ball!!!

Btw you should have free days, like this week where you can arrange to play friendlies. They can be a useful war of raising cash especially if you play them at home, although it does mean more games for your players so their condition is likely to drop.

When making your team selection it is useful to use the pop up squad window to show the condition of all your players and what positions they play in.

Another comment: If you are trying to buy players, patience is the key. Some managers will not reply straight away and others may never reply but it is also important to wait for players to come onto the market that have their correct valuation. If you look at the transfer list there is very little consistancy in the amount that people want for their players so its possible to get a player for a reasonable amount or you could be completely ripped off.

This has occured to me several times but the worst example was when the manager of FC Twente messaged me to say that he felt his player was worth 3 million when he was worth half that. What makes that really annoying is that he never plays the particular player and the bid would have been rejected by my board even if I could have afforded it.

Hmm... Can you have more than 1 friendly scheduled. I was under the impression that you can't, and I already have 1 a few weeks from now with Salernitana. If not, want to play a friendly Dell? :D

You can have more than one friendly sceduled, one per free date, but you cannot play me as we wont have any corresponding friendly dates. If you get knocked out of the cup, then we can play :)

Yeah, that must be soon. If I'm not mistaken I'll play a first division team away. :(
