FootieManager

I played a friendly against Nantes, tried out some new tactics and won 6-0; Velasco 3, Kneissl 2, Djetou 1. Think im going to stick with the same tactics against Barcelona next game.

I tied 0-0  ...to a team that has tied already 10 times!! I don't get it how come they can tie so much..

It does happen though, in CM you can draw alot of games throughout the season. One of my teams this season has already drawn 7 games and they have only played 9 games

Ive drawn 9 games this season now, bit too much for my liking but then Ive only lost 1 and won 19 so i suppose it'll have to do :). I'll post a pic of my league when I get on a comp which the print screen button works!

yes. but this team (Perugia) has drawn 10 out of 14 games...what it's happening to them? is it their tactics?

I won 3-0 :D now I'm closer to the top. Next week is a key date. The second plays the third...

EDIT: the second plays the fourth..

1-1 Away, seems my tactics are generating quite a few draws. Playing Willem on Saturday :)

Halfway Shocks in FRA D2

As the French Second Division season reaches its midpoint, the battle for promotion is still close with the first 5 teams separated by 3 points. However, the leaders are not the preseason favorites, who have slumped unexpectedly this season. Chateauroux, managed by Dan Kearns, head the division with 33 points after some great results that have surprised everyone, including the fans who had hoped their team might manage to scrape third place at best but now see their team at the top. In second is another surprise, with Angers lying in second place on 32 points. The first of the big name teams, Bastia, lie in third, also on 32 points. After Bastia were relegated last season, it was expected that they would challenge for a return and so far they have. After winning their last game away to Wasquehal, and Chateauroux dropping two points at home, fans will be hopeful that Bastia will achieve their aim.

As we have seen some new teams leading the division, there have also been some old teams that have lost out. Saint Etienne had hoped that after a season of disappointment they would be able to return to the Championnat after this season, but their recent bad form has left them outside of the promotion spaces, but still with a chance of winning promotion.

The real surprise strugglers this season are Creteil and AS Beauvais Oise, lying in 15th and 16th, respectively. Both teams won promotion two seasons ago and both teams were relegated the next year. However, with this experience of top-flight football, the fans of both teams were hoping for a quick return that just hasn’t materialized. It looked like a difficult season was lying in wait for ASBO from the start of the season, with 5 draws followed by a defeat not classifying as promotion winning form. Whilst Creteil have also struggled, it seems that it is the ASBO fans that are most upset as they saw their team nearly avoid relegation last season, whilst Creteil had gone down long before the end of the season. Several quarters are now calling for ASBO manager Matthew Bradley to quit the club, and we await an answer to these requests with a wall of silence from ASBO over the speculation.

In recent weeks we have also seen the arrival of several new managers: Volum Jonsson at Olympique Nice, Tony Puhl at Montpellier Herault, and Matthew Baxter at Chamois Niortais. Time will tell whether these new managers can guide their teams to success.

Hey guys,

I manage Italian Serie-B Cittadela in game 14.

This week's match is against Chievo Verona and I'm certain they'll be utterly offensive with a 3-4-3 formation (i've been checking their past games, they never change).
Normally I'd choose a balanced 4-4-2 and rely on the quality of my midfielders, but one of them is currently banned and I'm afraid his substitute won't do the job well. So I picked a 4-3-3 (defence: zone marking; Midfield: support defence; attack: cross balls; overall: counter attack.)

You guys think this is a good tactic to counter Chievo's offensive strategy? Or should I fight fire with fire and put an equally offensive team on the pitch? Any thoughts?

thx

:) Welcome to CFC

If you have the superior squad then it might be best to match their tactics but if the stats are reasonably close then a counter attacking tactic might give you the edge. Also it depends how well they have been doing recently as it seems once you start winning or losing you keep on with the same results...

Btw just curious as this is your first post as to why you came to a Civ site to talk about footiemanager.

Yeah it was written by me so you will probably get mentioned again at some point. I might copy the idea of someone else and do interviews.

Japson: you should've joined Italian Serie A in game 10 where I play..;)
