Forgien Advisor Circles

If you're not seeing the lines in the Foreign advisor, it's likely a result of not having the latest OpenGL drivers for your video card.

Win95/98/Me users can try GLSetup which should install the correct card drivers for you and resolve this problem. Win2000 and XP users will need to locate the appropriate OpenGL drivers from their individual video card manufacturer.

Thanks for that fix Dan. On the subject of the foreign advisor circles, what do we do? The circles themselves will just disappear after you destroy a civ and will not reappear when you start a new game with 8 or more civs. The circle itself seems to be disabled. No amount of right clicking or shift clicking will make them appear, they are gone. The only way to get all the circles to reappear is delete any save games where you destroyed a civ (and erased their circle) and then start a new game.

Will this be fixed in a patch?

Thanks.

This is related to the circles (i.e. foreign leader portraits) not showing up, not relationship lines.

I had the problem when I played my second game. The Indians & Japanese leader portraits didn't show up in the Foreign Advisor Screen because those two positions belonged to the Russians and Germans in my first game, which were destroyed by other civilisations.

This is what I did. I copied all the saved games of my first game into a subdirectory, and then copied all the saved games of my second (current) game into another subdirectory. To continue playing my current game, I just load it from the newly created subdirectory. When I go to the Foreign Advisor screen, I still don't see the Indian and Japanese leader, but when I Shift-Right-Click on the empty positions, I get a little pop-up list, showing Japan & India. I just select Japan, and then the Japanese leader appears.

So, try it - Shift + Right-click. I'm not sure whether it is because I have moved my saved games, or it's just the shift-right-click.
