Just spent some time in the Strategy forums and a thought occurred.

It can get confusing to read the forums since many threads do not reference the version. At the time that was THE Version any topic is obviously about.

But fire changed a ton of mechanics. 25 changed more. 30 will revolutionize the game again. So old Strategies no longer apply quite the Same.


Is there any chance of a new subforum to move all pre-shadow discussion to? or at least purge the strategy forum (with sufficient notice to let us back-up the posts which may remain relevant)?

Out here in the main forum most old info should just die off in a week of Posting. But posts are slower coming in Strategy, and new players are likely to try starting there.

Probably not just because the strategies become obsolete with each version, not just at the major milestones. It is difficult to defien strategy when the game is in flux (just as it is to set the AI) but I think obsolecense will have to remain in a project going through as much active change as FfH.

True, as soon as a balance issue is raised and addressed it could alter things as much as any complete revision of the game.

When shadow is nailed (forever away), then you might start thinking about something like that. Until then, trial and error is the name of the game. Of course, a lot of the basic tactics still hold true, so...

maybe ask that the threads OP write the version in the title ?
