Dear everyone,

in the coming days we'll be implementing the structure for the Civ7 forums.
I am putting the structure here for comments. We might not be able to take the comments into account right now, but might in the future, as we don't know yet how everything will develop. We expect some things to be only made final in the coming weeks, as e.g. we don't know yet much about the modding capabilities and what subforums we will have necessary there. A war academy subforum might also come later.

What we are considering is the following:
Civ7 - General Discussions
--> Civ7 - News
--> Civ7 - Bug Reports
--> Civ7 - Ideas & Suggestions
--> Civ7 - Reference Guides
Civ7 - Strategy & Tips
Civ7 - Creation & Customization
--> Help
--> Tutorials
--> Released Mods
Civ7 - Multiplayer
Civ7 - Videos
Civ7 - Stories & Tales
Civ7 - Technical Support
Civ7 - Macintosh (and Linux, Switch, etc. as they are supported)
Civ7 - Game of the Month
Civ7 - Hall of Fame

Please let us know if we're overlooking anything crucial.

This initial list looks good to me.

Unlike earlier games, which featured in-depth strategy articles, Civ7 launches in the age of streamers and videos. I like that you have a forum for videos. I expect that you will eventually set up sub-forums for especially useful videos: either under "Videos" or under "Strategy & Tips." The War Academy from previous games may well become the "Training Camp" list of key videos, from Firaxis, forum members (on their personal channels", or commercial streamers.

I would further subdivide the "Released Mods" section of the C&C section - as is, dumping all the released mods into one category would make it exceedingly hard to find what you're looking for by browsing, if the way Civ5 C&C works is any indication. Separate new civilizations from gameplay mechanics from cosmetic/graphical updates, at least.

Yes, but we have absolutely no idea of what will be moddable day one without the tools.

But I hope we'll quickly expand that section, like day two.

I'm wary of ideas and suggestions being made a Civ VII subforum - I think its traditional place has a top level forum is a long standing good practice, especially as, while the current game is its usual focus, it's often grown beyond that to discuss ideas for future games and spin off as well. For the same reason, I would keep "civ - ideas and suggestions" as the name over civ VII, ideas and suggestions/
