Done my 20 turns, several things have happened, I have few screens but there was no "visual" event.
Turn 70, I think about techs and decide to let priesthood finish. It's already started and will allow us to build the Oracle. I'm trying to grow up the military, we are weak.
71: Pete on a worker, we lack them too. I found Novgorod ON THE IRON. Two workers are connecting the city, so we can have the metal in all of our nation ASAP. Novgorod grabs deer and sheep and looks like a very nice city. It's started on walls, we only have warriors there at this point and some defence could be critical dealing with barbs.
Priesthood researched, after a thought I go for archery. The RNGod will test our resistance and faith, sending us more barbarian heathens, we need to be prepared.
The scout near India is exploring the region between us and them. Expansion should go in that direction.
72: JC converts to Buddhism. That's not good news, but he's not one of the religious freaks. I hope he won't be very angry with us, although he and Asoka are already close friends.
Moscow on a temple, but I set it to max growth. I want that city to become big, very big. We could have a size 10 city in the BC era here.
74: Archery is in, I decide to research fishing. We'll need that water tiles sooner rather than later! They are the best ones we have...
While Novgorod's believers spread their culture a bit further (with the help of creative + stonehenge), our scout is killed by a barb warrior. Our God is getting angry, because we are not fulfilling His order! Only 11 turns left...
75-76: Once fishing is discovered, I wonder if sailing could help us right now. Not hat we have time to build lighthouses now, so I switch to animal husbandry. A worker tech is always useful.
I move a warrior from the siege of Alemanni back to our land, upgrade him to an Axeman, and bring him back to the heathen city.
78: Our axeman kills the first heathen legions thanks to his faith in the true RNGod

(axeman kills warrior 5.00/5, not that much of a challenge).
The true faith spreads to our new glorious city of Novgorod! Now the hindu way of worshipping the RNGod is practised in two cities!
79: Here I stopped to ask if I should destroy Alemanni. After an affirmative response, I attacked the second time with our brave axeman, seeking sacrificial blood to offer to our God. RNGod was kind with us for the second time, maybe he has understood that His task was a bit too much for us to accomplish? Let's hope so!
BTW, the battle is won with no losses (5/5), and the heathen city is obviously razed.
The scout in the north spots another barb city near our borders! It's not a good thing, because that barb city is in a really crappy location. It has two gold that it can't work (look at the post above). I think it's another decoy thing by our RNGod, he wants to be sure that we understand barb cities always have to be destroyed. I won't have time to bring the heavenly justice to that town, but I hope the future kings will!
80: Novgorod finishes its walls, I start on an archer. AH is researched, I start sailing. Galleys and lighthouses will be useful.
81: Moscow starts the oracle, still on max growth. We want a building for our RNGod!
82-84:
85: we learn Sailing (the fast tech pace is due to the gold mine we have in Pete), and start pottery to be able to build cottages. We'll need them, although there's not much space to make them.
In this turn ends the time for accomplishing the task (getting something free from another civ). Pete finishes a settler, speeded up by two chops, which heads north. Where he will found the city, I don't know.
The RNGod seems pleased with us, there's a sure sign: hinduism spreads to Pete! So all of our cities have the state religion now. We could consider researching a rel civic now. I have to press enter before tossing the Dice Of Punishment (tm), turn 85 ends AFTER I've hit enter. I notice a thing: JC has researched Writing! Red Alarm! The trade screen can be opened now, and we are allowed to gift him cities!
86: Oh My RNGod, if I get an 1 with the dice roll, I'll have to gift JC a city! I toss the dice...
...
...
... 2!

Thanks RNGod!
And the punishment is... I have to whip all cities. Phew.
I revolt (we weren't in slavery), and prepare my cities. You slothful sinners! You will have to work very hard to pay for your sins!
The bad thing about this turn is, Oracle BIDL, Confucianism FIDL. Oh well, moscow on military.
87: Mass

(3 cities). We must do what the RNGod asks us to do!
88: Moscow on a lighthouse. This will allow us to have a 3-food-3-commerce lake tile. Barracks in Novgorod, a production city must have them.
89: JC comes up with this.
I declined, but I had no real reason. Maybe someone can make this deal.
90: Last turn, pottery is in. I've set the research to writing, but it has no beakers in it, so change it to the best tech. There are good options, like monarchy for HR and wine, and metal casting for the colossus. We should grab that wonder.
The best thing that happened in my turn, IMO, is this:
Remember that chop-rushed settler? I've brought him all the way past the barb city, putting heavy pressure on asoka. Now, if he wants to expand south, he has to go through tundra. Rostov gets 3 culture, so it will put cultural pressure on india too. There's a newly founded city nearby, we'll be able to see it in 4 turns, when the borders pop.
I've dotted the possible places for the next city. The barb one won't be a problem anymore (the axe is coming, still warriors there), and we could grab another piece of ery nice land. That city could potentially grab seafood, I haven't explored there because I needed the scout to bust fog at the "rostov" dot. The scout is now fortified in the city.
I had to patrol the whole path with warriors to make sure that the settler didn't encounter animals/barbs. I had to make him run without protection, because I had to settle that city ASAP, so I used the warriors (that I sent before) as lookouts on hills. Luckily asoka founded his city a bit north! As Sirian says, "sometimes it's better to be good AND lucky!".
Ok, that's pretty much all. I'm learning the art of dotmapping from omni_paul, I have tried a continental map that you can see in the thumbnail (300k).
I need to practise paint shop pro, some dots don't show. I put a dot on the coast west of rostov, and a black dot on the far south, on the snow patch grabbing fish and marble. The blue dot doesn't show a whale in its radius; it's a good city besides that.
The iron in the north is quite useless, too little food there to use it, so I left it out of all city radii.
Yellow dot is 1 tile W of the barb city, on the coast.
Green dot sits on iron and grabs the two silks, while White dot will be a great city, with 2 food resources and copper.
I've put a city for the silver, two for the furs, and some other useless junk. You can watch it, but these aren't worthwhile places for now, except maybe the red dot, at least for cultural borders.
Maybe I'll post some more screenies later... I feel quite lazy right now. I'd be glad to have some feedback about the dotmap, both for the places and the style. Bye bye!
