My Turns Part I:
Turn 90 (625 BC)
We interupt this broadcast to bring you this DNN (Deutschland News Network) Special Report. We now bring you live to Dick Lipstick on the scene in Berlin. Dick?
Thanks, Harvey. And good evening folks, this is Dick Lipstick reporting for DNN live from Berlin. Folks, I have grave news from our nation's capital.
At 2:00 this afternoon, the special advisor to the minister for smallfolk announced in a press conference that His Grace, the Venerable Bede, pontif to nearly a million souls and our supreme majesty has died of complecations during a routine lobotomy.
The most beloved Pontif of our great nation assumed the throne on his nineteenth birthday in 875 BC and reigned peacefully until this afternoon, December 3rd, 625. His Grace was a spritely 169 years old.
We move now to our correspondent on the street, Anna Bobblechest, where it would appear the citizens have organized a procession in honor of the fallen demigod. Anna?
Yes, Dick. Indeed the plain and filthy smallfolk have begun a procession in the streets, lighting candles, and humming Das Lied der Deutschen to themselves in honor of His Grace.
You can see here, one of our own national guard straddling Main Street and Broadway, obviously in great sorrow.
// Okay screenie was lost but imagine a flying camera zoomed into the city showing massive legs straddling a city block
(Dick) Anna, have we had any word on His Grace's successor?
(Anna) Yes, Dick. We have. Aparently, on his death bed, King Bede, childless due to that unfortunate business with the sheep, named former War Minister Rex Tyranus to rule in his place.
(Dick)Well then, the king is dead, long live the king!
(Anna) [giggles] Yes Dick. I spoke to His Majesty, Rex I a few moments ago. He said that this loss is tremendous, but the German people will persevere.
Further, our new Royal Person claimed that his first order of business will be to sniff out the "rat Mongol bastards" who conspired to kill our king.
(Dick) But Anna, I thought the King died on the operating table?
He did, but King Rex believes that Kublai the Kahn used his "mind powers" and "laser vision" to infiltrate the hospital and bring untimely demise to our former Monarch.
He plans to galvanize our people into an all-out Jihad against the Mongol hordes.
(Dick) Sounds like fun, Anna! At least the boys in uniform aught to be happy for a few hundred years. Anyway, that's the scoop and you heard it here first.
We thank you for tuning in, and now back to your regular programming.
Enough bull-loney. On to the game.
We have 4 cities. Most are close to the happiness limit. <whip_crack />
Munich is at the H-limit, but it's building a settler.
Though, come to think of it, we've got plenty of food. Why not whip the bastard now?
No, I'll wait until we get down to a 1-pop whip.
Berlin will grow in 4, then I'll whip to finish the barracks.
No MM needed. COL in 4.
Confucianism isn't yet founded. Here's hoping.
ENd of inherited turn.
Turn 91 (600 BC)
Oh, didn't realize we had a chop going on in Munich. Now settler's due in 1
Munich finishes: Settler
Turn 92 (575 BC)
Munich begins: Swordsman
We gained access to iron on the very turn our settler popped. Sweet. Since Munich's a production city, I prioritized units of anything else. Begin Swordsman. Whip soon.
Hamburg finishes: Barracks
Turn 93 (550 BC)
Hamburg begins: Spearman
Caesar demands Polytheism. He leaves unhappy.
Hamburg begins Spear as no "science" buildings are available.
Worker begins farm south of Hamburg.
Tech learned: Code of Laws
Confucianism founded in Munich
Confucianism has spread: Munich
Berlin grows: 5
Hamburg grows: 4
Turn 94 (525 BC)
Research begun: Monarchy
Cunfucias says: Hello!
I begin work on monarchy, but I don't know how many turns it'll take. We're in anarchy right now because it asked me to switch religion first.
Priamids BIAFAL
Louis converts to hinduism.
Now the whole world is either cauteous or annoyed with us.
I'm sending our missionary to berlin.
Turn 95 (500 BC)
Qin Shi Huang adopts Police State. Guess we know where the Pyramids were built.
If he's building millitary, we might want to try to befriend him.
Frankfurt founded
Frankfurt begins: Obelisk
I put Frankfurt on the river to grap the crabs. Yes, no hills, and I could have gotten them. This just seemed better. I build an Obelisk for the (hopeful) early expansion to get said crabs. Also, with enough culture, we can get those horses, too.
Confucianism has spread: Berlin
