Hannibal can't reach us since he doesn't have the appropriate borders. I wouldn't be too concerned about him declaring on us, since we can bribe Hatty after Hannibal if that happens. The bigger concern is Brennus attacking us again. Perhaps we can hide under a DP with somebody?
Also, I think research should go fission-fusion. The engine takes a very long time to build, compared to the life support (even if we don't have copper).
This is OCC ... it doesn't matter which part (slow or fast) we unlock first, as long as we keep having something to build while researching.
Having said that, I still go for Fission first for 2 reasons. The obvious is of-course we want the Free Engineer. The second is because of the series of trades I was able to made:
This relieved us temporarily of the necessity to go Refrigeration -> Genetics first. In fact, we can now grow to size 24 and stagnant there ... provided the potential war (see below) does not cause our suppliers to lose their seafood supplies again.
I continue to get Apollo, and while waiting for one of the AI to get satellite, I produced one casing. Meanwhile, Brenny asked us to teach him fly ...
... instead, I told him to go fly kite. Some interesting logs up till the faithful year of 1935:
So what happened in 1935? First, Asoka joined Wang in being the first two Civ to learn Satellite, which of-course made us the 3rd:
I immediately swapped production to Beanstalk. Same year, we got a scientist. I was pondering over settling, saving for a golden age, and lightbulb. Golden age is not needed now, as we still have time to produce one more GPerson. Considering we have 50+ turns of research left (assuming no more Internet freebies: refrigeration, Genetics, Ecology, and Fusion), lightbulb gives 1569 beakers, settling gives 9 beakers + 260% = 32.4bpt (reach 1569 in 48 turns), I chose to settle. The +1 hammer tipped the balance.
I was happily posting "Forest Growth" signs all around to remind players to leave at least 1 forest adjacent to these tiles and not to build roads on these tiles, when we got a forest growth (RNGod must have heard my prayers) ...
Ironically, it was on a railroaded tile
Some events that happen in the 1930s:
We have opportunity to stir up a world war again, this time I suggest a swap in the warring couples:
Brenny won't be able to withstand another war with 3 of his neighbors, hence it may be better to have Asoka go after him while we pitch Hatty and her vassals against Hanny. Oh, remember to get some gold from them when you get them to war also.
This may cause us to lose some health resources due to our supplier being pillaged, but I think it is worth it to have the rest of the world divert their attention away from the space race.
We should get the free engineer, suggest settling him, and wait for the GPerson that is gonna be born in 20+ turns to trigger the GAge. But if you don't want to risk the possibility of another GArtist, I am fine with triggering GAge with the engineer too.
We will get Beanstalk soon, suggest finishing the casing on queue and move on to the heavier parts (leave the remaining casings last). Chopped as needed and hope for forest orgy party. If needed, build the scotland yard and a spy to infiltrate Egypt. I was monitoring the Aluminum mine's culture, and it actually rose from 63% to 64% during my turnset. So, no need to build the Hermitage (avoid polluting the gene pool further with artists' DNA).
The game should be in the bag, and seeing that it will be boring press enter most of the time, I suggest players play more turns (like 15) to bring us home within this round of turnsets.
Turn 350/460 (1940 AD) [07-Oct-2007 11:03:36] Moscow begins: The Space Elevator (3 turns)
Having said that, this should be my last joke.
Spoilerjoke :
An American soldier, after fighting the war in England, was finally allowed to go back home. He boarded a train full of people, and when he finally found an empty seat which he could rest his tired legs, he found that an English lady had placed her dog on that seat. Politely, he asked the Madamme to move the dog to her laps, only to be greeted with a snort from the fine lady. The Yankee go off and to search for another seat to no avail, and returned to the same cabin and requested the lady to empty the seat again. When he received the same response, he grew angry, and promptly picked up the dog, threw it out of the window, and sat down.
Witnessing all this, an old English gentleman in the same cabin scowled: "What's wrong with you Americans!!! You eat your food with the fork on the wrong hand, you drove on the wrong side of the road, you spell '-ise' wrongly with '-ize', and now, you threw the wrong b!tch out of the window!"

I looked at the power graph and decided not to start a world war yet. Hatty has WAY too much power for me to comfortably send her against Hannibal alone. I'd rather send her against both Hannibal and Brennus at once. Brennus stole a bunch of Hatty techs while he was her vassal and has recovered in power quite nicely
In 1945, Brennus comes demanding robotics. I agree, as I want to give robotics to both Brennus and Hannibal. But Hannibal still won't talk to us. So instead I bribe Hatty against both Brennus and Hannibal for the price of fission. I also declare on Hannibal (no OB to attack us) so that we can direct Hatty's attacks.
Not much happens during the rest of the set other than building space parts. We win the fusion race for the GE who is immediately settled for more hammers.
Asoka will declare on Brennus and Hannibal so if Hatty takes peace with either, I recommend sending Asoka after the free hand. Also, Hannibal will now talk to us again and we can get peace with him and give him robotics. I think it'll help his (losing) fight against Hatty. The double war has put a dent into Hatty's power but she's still the clear leader in power. Hatty definitely can't vassalize Brennus (I don't think she has the army to take many more cities from him) but she may make some progress against Hannibal. Still, it's stalling her space efforts and we just have cockpit, docking bay (mostly done), engine, life support, and 3 thrusters to go. We should be able to finish up soon.
And feel free to gift the military techs to the two warmongers They'll keep HAtty occupied.
I know AI is dumb, but didn't know that AI is dumb enough to declare on 2 Civs for a tech
We probably don't need the spy thingy then.
Hmm ... in OCC, we should always finish the heaviest part first (instead of casings first) and leave the lightest towards the end. No matter, the game should finish in 50 turns. We could start chopping the outside forests (since GAge does not affect chop yield, we better start chopping now).
We probably need to build the supermarkets to halt the starvation ... genetics would not come online in time. Try not to bribe Asoka into the war to avoid losing more health resource supplies.
FINALLY: instead of picking up the same chick, you decide to go celibate and choose not to pick up any chicks????
Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy takes out his phone and calls the emergency services.
He gasps: "My friend is dead! What can I do?" The operator says: "Calm down, I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead." There is a silence, then a gunshot is heard. Back on the phone, the guy says: "OK, now what?"
OK, it's probably not that bad of a joke but I figure it makes up for me forgetting to post a joke

It happened in the red light district. The guest was not satisfied with the performance of the lady and didn't want to pay. She however was insisting on her money and after discussing some time it was agreed to clarify the matter before court.
Some weeks later both were waiting in the court room for the trial to beginn, as the judge enters the room and says: "We got a problem today. Today we have visitor's day and a class with young children is our guest. We can't handle such a delicate matter openly. So I suggest we handle this as if it was a matter of renting an appartement." Both agree, and so the trial can start.
The judge asks the man why he wouldn't pay the "rent for the appartement". The man answers: "Worthy judge, the reasons are simple: Firstly it was an old appartement, secondly the room was way too moist and thirdly the room was way to big !"
The judge turns his head and says: "Those are very severe accusations. What does the owner of the room say to them ?"
The woman answers: "That the room was old he had seen before he got in. The rooms only got moist after he got in. And why the hell I'm responsible for him having so small a furniture..."
It is my last bad joke as this game will be over in the next 15 turns. I played 20 as the Fox said we should play more to bring the game within grasp of the victory.
First of all Hatty asked us for help against Brennus. I thought some minutes about it and checked the screens. In the end I declined because we're so close to victory and do share a direct border with the Celts. This proved well as 3 turns later Hatty and Wang made peace with him. This would have left us in an one on one against Brennus...
Hatty is bashing Hannibal quite hard...
Hatty offered us another grand deal. No thanks, lady, we'd rather win the game on our own...
Refridgeration came in. I had chopped a forest for the SS part to finish just in time so we could chip in the Supermarket. I then went for Genetics.
The world at partial peace.
Hatty is occupied with Hannibal and won't declare on a 2nd Civ, this is a difference to BtS.
Supermarket in, starvation stopped.
We got a Great Artist again. I settled him for 3 base beakers...
Asoka was building space parts busily as he was not in war. Time to change that. He would have declared on Brennus for the price of Fusion, but I didn't want to sell out that tech.
Good news.
No Hatty, I don't wanna grow your cities or relieve you of war weariness.
Genetics came in just in time, as the clams deal with Asoka was canceled through pillaging.
The Internet strikes again !
Hatty is close on our heels, but not close enough. The last Thruster will finish next turn, we then have 5 turns apiece on the 2 remaining parts available. In 9 turns Ecology comes in, unlocking the Stasis Chamber as last missing part. I guess we can build it in 3-5 turns. There are still some forests left for chopping. So I think the game will be over in 15 turns at the most...

Ok! This is what I get for doing smaller turnsets than the normal required. I'll bring this baby home tonight.
Well, let me not count the victory in before the right time.... This is gonna be a looooooooooooooooooooong day....
First, I merge the GA as Mr. Fox commands. Thruster is in. We start on the SS Stasis Chamber and I change all scientists to Engineers. We have 6 now. Hatty :
When Stasis Chamber finishes, we start the Cockpit. What is this???
I looked and Ecology would finish on the same turn we would finish the Cockpit, but suddenly:
Internet powered!
Now I started chopping everything outside the BFC. Cockpit in, start Life Support (3 turns). Look!

Guys, this was an amazing game. I had a great time being by Mr. Fox. Everybody played pretty well and thanks to you I could manage my first OCC victory and my first Emperor victory. I hope to play with you again soon!
To FB, I have one word, just one word :
*takes a deep breath* Ok, when I get to a civ capable computer ( in +/- 6 hours, I'll play the monumental ammount of turns that are still to play
