Bonjour,

Merci.

I'm sry, i dont speak realy english, and i look for an answer that i can understand.
for information, google translate :

Hello,

I have a lot of game time under my belt, but I have still not found any clear explanation as to the fighting engine!
Indeed, someone he can explain how to calculate the results are fighting?
What mathematical formula / algorithm is used?

Each unit with 10HP, how compared to the characteristic of "force" is calculated the number of damage?

How life has a point city?
Which algorithm for the cities?

These are all question that remains unanswered for me.
Someone there any clear answers?

Thank you.

Thank you for this article, its a biginning, but i don't realy understand all part^^
I'm sry, but english is hard for me.

the basics of the article in simple english:

at the same strength ("force"?) and full hp (pv?) units do 4 to 7 damage to each other.

at different strengths, the damage is adjusted similar to the ratio of strength,
as shown in this graph:
attachment.php

the formula that results in this graph is given in the article.

so a warrior (6 strength) attacking a pikeman on a hill (12.5 strength):
the warrior is fighting at about a 0.5 ratio (6 / 12.5) so will do 2 to 4 damage
the pikeman is fighting at about a 2.0 ratio (12.5 / 6) so will do 7 to 13 damage

every 2 points of damage reduces the damage a unit will do by about 10%, so if the pike on the hill was at 6 health, it would only do about 5 to 10 damage

cities deal 0.5x as much damage, so a warrior attacking a 12 strength city will only take 3 to 7 damage.

Yes, i think i have understand the idea :)

i finish a game to day, 24h of game, its realy a good game :D
But DLC are , where is a complete extension, like civ IV?! ^^

Thank you all ;)
