Freeware video converters

Anyone know any good freeware converters that can convert videos made with the windows movie maker provided by Vista into files that can be uploaded to youtube?

I've found MediaCoder to be good. A bit of a learning curve, but very flexible.

Why would you need to convert them. Youtube accepts wmv

Youtube converts most video formats when you upload them. On the subject of free video converters, I tend to use VLC (http://videolan.org ).
