Hi everybody,

Frizzimod v2.0 is now available for download.

There are two new leader heads (Charles V, Cardinal Richelieu), four new leader traits (Diplomatic, Daring, Progressive and Informed), a "giant" map size option and "Automatic research" / "Hidden research" game options.

With "Automatic research" turned on, human players will no longer be able to choose by themselves what tech to research next. With "Hidden research", they will not even know what the are currently reseraching and how long it will take.

Hope you enjoy it!

I just discovered that for some queer motive Richelieu isn't moving. For the moment I can't detect why this is so, but I'm looking into it. It was working without problems before, so I can't be anything serious.

If you have downloaded and installed the file, I would be happy to know if you are observing the same effect, or if Richelieu is frozen or moving. Strangely enough, it seems to work on some computers but not on mine.

EDIT: The "frozen Richelieu" problem should now be solved. Very weird ... I just copied exactly the same files from a backup to the folder, and now he's greeting and moving again ...

IMO your new leader traits are quite... daring, as are the new research methods, which are highly realistic. (I've always wondered why research wasn't "blind", as in reality in many cases it was and still is.)

I have but one comment: Augustus was not the most progressive of men, certainly if compared to Caesar. (In fact his whole rule was based on a romantic sort of conservatism and moralism - which, ofcourse he only applied to himself in public.) Just a thought.;)

Hey you should probably post this in the modpacks section. This part of the board is more for questions and general discusions. There is a whole subforum just for modpacks.

Also the Blind and Automatic reasearch options are intriguing. If it's possible, try to seperate the code for that specifically, and definatly post it in the mod components forum. I'm sure some other modders would love to run with it, and might get some good ideas from seeing your code. Good work on getting that working, I've seen a few people talking about trying to set something like that up.

@jeelen

To be frank, I agree with you on the Augustus thing. I already thought of the same thing, but I don't remember why in the end I didn't change it. Maybe I will do so with the next update.

@phungus420

Good idea to make the source code public. However I would like to wait for the first feedback of other players. If no bugs are reported for the feature then I will publish the cpp files with one of the next updates.
Can I move this thread to another section myself or does an admin have to do it?

Just let this one sink, and start a new thread in the Modpacks section. Don't worry about having an admin move it.
