Speaking of bell curve (it's called Gauss curve, BTW), there is a "hole" at DG. I think it's because many players skip it, with a single reason, because it's not in Civ3/PTW.

Technically, it's called a normal distribution. I think the "hole" at DG is more of a psychological thing. DG is below deity, the highest level in vanilla Civ3, and its name is not so apealing. When you get to that level you don't want to be just a half god do you?

Playing monarch, and winning them all now. I'm thinking of moving up, but I like the balance in the game now. Not to much MM. Trying some of the SG variants now, currently AW.

If that goes well and CIV4 isn't out yet, it'll be emperor.

I play Deity put I never tried DG. I dunno why ,maybe I dont like the name.

I play mostly Emperor with random everything (Barbs are Roaming) on a large map with 12 Civs. I play every starting location no matter how bad. So far I'm winning about 50% of my games, which is a good, strong challenge. In fact, I've won a couple where I thought that I had NO chance in the beginning. That makes it fun!

I typically play either DG or Deity. Participating in succession games has helped my skills quite a bit, I learn something new from almost every game.

Despite my name, I play on monarch (as my title states). I've moved up from regent since I joined. Monarch plays a nice game, where there's a challenge, but I can always catach up if I play my cards correctly.

well ive beaten emperor twice and mostly play it but i will go down to the lower levels for variants.

I voted for Demigod--this is the level at which I can consistently win. Hopefully, before too long, I will be winning consistently on Deity.

Same thing here. For some reason there's something not so apealing about being "Demi" god.

Ditto. I went straight from Emperor to Deity skipping demi. I guess the "demi" part sounded as though I was kinda a lame player or somethin. Just didn't appeal to me. Besides, it was a new intermediate level that came up with C3C. Deity went all the way back to the good old days of my PS2 Civ II. Sigh.

Predominantly Regent w/ the occasional Monarch game. I enjoy these difficulties because they're challenging but not unduly so.
