Ok So I move my Great Prophet over to the other Continent for some City State Conversions, simple because they are asking for it. As my GP sails the ocean blue I run into a few barbarian Privateers along the way. Note: I have the game settings at Marathon, Large with 8 Civs & 20 CSs with the Raging Barbarians selected. I am the Danish with the Toaism as my religion.

I run into a badly Damaged Privateer who decides to attack my wounded GP. and low and behold dont the Prophet put the smack down on the Barbarian and sink it. I laughed about a good 5 minutes. Since I have Honor policy tree maxed out, I accrued gold and culture for the kill. First time I have ever seen a Civilian unit not only kill a military unit but gain something extra for it as well.

He called upon whatever god is in your pantheon to smite the infidels.

He layeth the smacketh downeth. lol

Since he was Danish, he clearly summoned the mighty Thor. :viking:

But how did this happen? I didn't think Denmark had the "embarked units can defend themselves" ability. I play vanilla so forgive me if I've missed something obvious.

Praise the lord and pass the ammunition and that.

I declared war on my neighbor Attila, who at the time of my DoW, had a settler embarked in the water south of my capital. A few turns later I received a notice my cargo ship was plundered, and wouldn't you know it, the settler was the culprit. My navy was occupied with the war but I managed to get one over to the settler, and took deep satisfaction in blowing him up. Later on in that same game, I was warring with Napoleon and closing in on Paris fast. For whatever reason, he had an army of archaeologists surrounding his capital, one of them embarked and destroyed a cargo ship who happened to be sailing through the warzone. My battleships made quick work of the guy. So yes, that embarked worker that the game keeps nagging you about with the dramatic music, can be a thorn in your side.

Is this has been fixed in the last patch? I think embarked civilian units can no longer plunder trade routes.

The French Indiana Jones plundered an enemy cargo ship in a thrilling adventure that involved him being chased by enemy battleships.
