In my current game, I declared a surprise war against Theodore Roosevelt and took his capital, then a few turns later, I make peace. I guess that triggered his agenda that he likes peace on his continent because he gave an approving message about how he likes that I am at peace on his continent. "Uh Theo boy, I am at peace because I just made peace with you after surprise attacking your capital!" I found that rather humorous. Did anyone else have a funny diplomatic moment?

Every time Cleopatra rolls paranoid with her standard agenda...

"You have a weak army! I hate you!"
"You have a strong army! You're scary!"

I enjoy liberating cities from John Curtin, and he enjoys it as well. We became very good friends one game where he conquered half of Nubia and swallowed up neighboring citystates only for me to come along and put them all back where they came from (or so help me).

Encountered this beauty of an agenda combo in my latest game:

Turn 32. Trajan feels like scolding me for having fewer than 3 cities after getting harrassed by barbarians. Note he's one of those people whose voice reaches sonar-levels of high pitch when annoyed.

Turn 34 of the same game. Trajan suddenly decided that he LOVES how small my empire is and commends me for not settling.

Well you kind of ruined it now.:cry:

Still an unspeakably hilarious Agenda Combo though.

More like ironic:

I surprise DOW and delete Kongo from the game. Tomyris lets me know she’s not happy about it, obviously.

Guess who was my main ally for the majority of that game until the end?:queen::king:

This is not exactly a funny diplo moment but in my current game as Russia, Rome loves me since I have a lot of territory. The funny part is that the AI Rome which is supposed to be a very expansionist civ, never expanded past 2 cities. I am guessing the AI is having some issues. I did notice his settler just wander back and forth forever. But to see an expansionist civ, remain a tiny little 2 city civ, and praise me for me for being an expansionist, is nice.

isnt the whole diplomacy of civ 6 a joke in itself?

Better than the psychopathic AI in Civilization 5.

Civ VI has a lot of room to grow and adjust. It is slowly coming around. :)

Brave new world has a good AI and good diplomacy

yet they didn't learn from there mistake and we have a bad diplomacy now thats why its more of a joke then civ 5. in civ 5 they fixed it with expansion then the same developers created civ 6 and make the same mistakes they did in 5 or worse

civ6 diplo has potential to be really good if they fix warmongering, fix denouncing, fix joint wars, make the AI take military strength into consideration for deals, and add more negotiating and interesting new agreements.
