Funny place names

This is a very lazy start to a thread, but here's a link to the UK's rudest place names.
Have any other fanatics got stupidly-named places near them, or even just know of a few to amuse us?
And the whole world knows of the French town called Condom, so please don't anyone post that .

Is that the name of the town itself, or is it the German translation of the above word that is the name of the town?

A colleague of mine told me about the town he passed through in (I think) Sweden. The town was called "Wanking".

What made this especially amusing was that they followed the european tradition of having the name of the town on a sign on the way in, and the name of the town with a line through it on he way out. Some places have no-smoking signs, this one has....

In de Dutch province of Limburg, there's a town called "America". Less than 2,000 residents.

But there are also a lot of places and districts in the US and Canada which are named to Dutch cities. Vancouver: "van" means "from" and Couver comes from Coevorden. Coevorden has about 30,000 residents.

The district Harlem in New York comes from Haarlem, the capital of a province. My guess is it has about 200,000 residents. Is that less than the district Harlem?
Brooklyn comes from Breukelen; less than 10,000 residents.

Furthermore there are a lot of names which other Dutchmen would find funny.
Lutjebroek, Een, Twee, Drie, Vier, Spier...ach, gewoon in de Bosatlas kijken.

apparently the longest place name is in NZ, but they have simplified it to 'waikikamukau' (why-kick-a-moo-cow), but i would take that with a grain of salt, the actual name exists (i looked on a NZ map), but im not sure if its the largest place name.

The Thai name for Bangkok is actually longer - there was a question in the Geogrpahy quiz some months ago about this.

Of course, Australia is full of 'interesting' names.

The towns of Waggawagga and Bogan spring to mind.

(although non-antipodeans may not see the significance of 'bogan'.

In Norway there's also a place called Hell. You can buy dark red postcards there which say "Greetings from Hell".

I've always gotten a kick out of this one: Lake Titikaka (somewhere in South America)

Lahore (in Pakistan; my dad was born there) also comes to mind.

Also, I've heard there's a Chinese restaurant out there called "The Foo King Noodle"; I was amused by that one as well.
